I think we should keep it simple for the majority, feels like we don't give a player a chant now unless it has two verses. Back in't day we would just give it the old:
"One Ian Evatt, One Ian Evatt"
"Keith Southern m'lord, woah-oh Keith Southern"
"do-do-do, Gary Taylor-Fletcher"

The longer chants are class, but not always necessary for everyone - be nice to just have simple ones for some players so they actually get some recognition every now and again.

Closest we've got to the Yates/Patino player chants is the Dembele one this season.
 
Kinda agree with opening post. Kyle Joseph one isn’t catchy enough and Dembele one is good until we sing about no going to Wembley!
 
They all seem very convoluted and cheesy to me. Back in the day, I don't remember many player-specific chants, aside from the really simple ones. All this rewriting lyrics from pop songs is a bit cringeworthy. Chants need to be simple - hear it once and join in. You shouldn't have to google the words.
 
Wonder when the last time we sang the 'we got the Oyston's out song' got an airing?
Apologies if it's recently as I'm in the South and sometimes I'll hear chants when watching goals back that somehow don't reach us!!

Tell that to the people who went to prison, paid life changing amounts of money, visited court processing, organised events.

I did very little, other than chip in a bit of cash as and when and attended the protests as and when, bit plenty carried an awful lot.

But a lot of us haven’t forgotten,standing outside the ground and walking away at 3pm every other week, it is still very raw for me.
 
Funny how even though we were shit last season in a thoroughly perverse way I did enjoy the atmosphere because we had these chants. It’s feel very happy clappy this season.
