Which one would you choose

Jermaine Defoe's late equaliser at White Hart Lane in the PL
Pretty sure we'd have stayed up comfortably (agree with Chunky about the Stains though)
Was definitely a gut punch after the elation of the double-penalty moment, I don't think i've ever seen that happen before or since.

Anyway, yeah - i'd strategically eliminate a goal that would have kept us up that season. The 2nd season would have been a mighty struggle and might have delayed the Oyston's leaving but just to say we've had 2 seasons in the PL would be worth it, we might even have got some new sprinklers or a nicer scoreboard out of it.

Defoe's goal at Spurs away.

The drama of it all was unbelievable. Penalty, Adam misses, goes out for a corner, keeper in an adrenaline rush gives away another pen, DJ and Adam arguing over who takes the pen, Adam retakes, scores, runs over to the away fans giving it large on the badge. If that would have ended in a win that would have ultimately been pivotal in keeping us, would be an amazing moment to look back on (still is to be fair).

Lo and behold Defoe gets the equaliser in the last minute, can't believe we gave him so much space.

EDIT:
@Dave62 just seen your comment. Great minds and all that..

The late late equaliser at Tottenham in the Premier league.
We were on holiday and thought we had won until about 8.00 pm Saturday night.
We were devastated.

It still boils my blood. 🤬
Me too, but only because I have to watch Steve Hodge slice it backwards like a dick and then Shilton lumbering out for no reason before failing to out jump someone 5 foot 5.

Can't really blame Maradona for taking a chance, the defence was static and clueless for both of their goals and Robson bought Waddle and Barnes on too late.

QPR's late goal in their final match that denied Pool promotion to Div 1 on goal average in 1967/68.
On the final day we won 3-0 at Huddersfield but somehow lost out at the death. It went from ecstasy to agony.

Absolutely agree fy8. Never disliked Maradona for the cheek but can't stand watching how he leaps whereby Shilton's got Frankenstein boots on. Was wearing them again 4 years later when the semi final free kick drops over his head.
No, not a fan.

Similar occurance whereby I'd already started to discuss Wembley plans before ringing my brother from Majorca just after the Bradford 2nd leg.

I do blame Maradona he can drop dead for me. Oh wait a minute……….

No just more nematodes

Not bothered by anything that happened under the Oystons.

I'll say West Brom's first goal at home last season. We bossed that game and would have won if we had scored first. I'm convinced we would have stayed up if we had won that night.

Vaz Te’s late winner for West Ham in the 2012 playoff final, then again, as previously mentioned if we had of returned straight back to the Prem we would have been stuck with the Oystons until god know a when!
I think even by then things were starting to unravel and that events would have taken their natural course. I would have loved another season in the Prem 😞

And Gilks (just back from injury) went down in installments.

Was it not Steve Fenwick slicing the ball?

Start of our bad run. I mentioned this match on the Chesterfield thread.

Was amazed how many Pool turned up for that match and the atmosphere.

Saltergate was a dump, but when it was full, produced an amazing atmosphere and noise.
Yep remember arriving late and there was no spare terracing to be found without blocking someone's view,I had to make do with standing right at the back and jumping up and down during the rare interesting bits.

I was a plod on duty in the Pool end and was at the back with my helmet off jumping about when it got exciting. Managed to watch the whole match.

Billy Bingham's goal for Luton at BR in the 6th round of the FA Cup in 1959. Would have put us in the semi final , mind you not sure I
would have got to the semi as a 10 year old. Never been close since.
