Maybe he already knew that the play-offs were not feasible before the game with the current players. So is finding out who to keep
and who to get rid at the end of the season.

Good spot that @20togo - I think Critchley is a smart mover and has Sadler in his pocket and maybe this was his way of saying 'if you thought this was bad, wait until next season'. Question is do you give Critchley the money or someone new.
