Gabriel almost definitely” moving on this transfer window

TSSJr3 giving me a running commentary.

At least we know so we can give him a decent goodbye.

Who could blame him for moving on …first Critchley preferred Turton to him and now cj Hamilton…ludicrous he can barely get a game and I guess he will command a decent fee…I’d sell him and apter and try and get all four loan players in on permanents…and before anyone says we can’t get Dembele let’s at least give it a go and test his club with a decent bid…I’m sure he’s enjoyed it here and who knows

Yeah I don’t blame him, critchleys fault agreed.

I’d be surprised if we managed to get any of the loan players in, Sadler clearly lacks ambition in the transfer market as we have seen time and time again on previously loan players and in general.

Thought this would happen, another quality asset made to feel he doesn’t fit. No way will we get his true value. For me, the brightest talent we have and he’s a bit part player. I mean, hooked off at half time v Orient, when he was the player making things happen. We didn’t get out of our half second half. That I think would have made his mind up.

The guy loved the club and the fans, and his family seemed really invested in it. Problem is, we play a system that doesn’t value a quality right back. Sadly we’ll lose him and then get a manager that wants to play 4 at the back.

You just can’t replace that talent unless you are paying big money from Championship. Such poor asset management, not for the first time.

If we fuck it up on Saturday will Sadlet have the balls to pot Critchley, I mean the Barnsley guy got potted when they are still in the play offs! If we don't make it the bore master has to go and maybe then we might be able to keep our best players and play them in their proper position, We are just peering over the cracks. It stinks around the place.

I've never believed that was the case.

We can’t get Dembele as the asking price is now circa £2m and a host of Championship clubs are already falling over themselves to offer him Championship wages.
Why would you sell Apter ffs ?? He walks into this team next season.

If you look at some more of the replies she seems to imply Gabriel isn't too happy with the amount of football he's getting and there is interest from other teams. Can't really blame him.
He wanted to leave last summer but nobody paid the asking price. He should go. He doesn’t want to be here.

I think he’s been a great servant to the club and has scored some important goals.
However, it’s not like he would be hard to replace and if his heart isn’t in it then it’s time to go.
Really looking forward to seeing who we get in the summer.

Gabriel has been out injured a lot of the time and has only 43 league starts in the three seasons since we paid 700k for him. Les than 15 per season. Good player but fragile.

Who is the other dissenting voice, if this is true? Connolly, Norburn or Joseph, I guess.

Casey I'd say but yeh Joseph too

Our best non loan player moving on because he doesn’t ’fit the system’. Our best defender Ekpiteta also doesn’t ’fit the system’. Maybe we need to look at the system and the manager rather than losing our best players.
The system was fine on Saturday, with Ekpiteta central. Only one game, but it works with the right approach and attacking intent. We are going to miss Marv, we rely on him a fair bit at the back.

Marv does fit the system he's been a regular starter for a while and we've not let in many goals.
He got offered a new contract last year and didn't sign it.

He will be very tough to replace and probably will struggle to get a player of equal quality or better for whatever fee we receive. Gabriel is comfortably one of the best RB in the league, young and gives 100% every time he plays. Truly ridiculous decision if he leaves

He's scored one goal while he's been with us and it wasn't that important 😉

I dont blame him for wanting out. If I had CJ Hamilton being played out of position ahead of me every week, I'd want gone as well. Shame as Gabriel has always had a good attitude and I still believe that a run of games would have shown how good he actually is. We probably won't even get our money back for him. Wouldn't surprise me if he's at one of the established Championship teams in a few years time.

He and another player also spoke up in a team meeting with Critchley and were critical of the approach being taken. Both have been benched since. Likely that both players want out but one is ‘defiantly’ being sold.
Where did you hear this from? Also heard something off a friend about a similar event and some players walking out of training according to a player’s relation, but sceptical to believe it.
