Gabriel almost definitely” moving on this transfer window

The system was fine on Saturday, with Ekpiteta central. Only one game, but it works with the right approach and attacking intent. We are going to miss Marv, we rely on him a fair bit at the back.
Barnsley’s approach helped us massively first half. There was zero pressure on our back 3. In the second half they changed and put on the big striker. It was then a different story, so I wouldn’t say the system suddenly worked. It’s worked on & off over the season, dependant on how the opposition set up. Our problem is that we cannot change when needed, to counter what they do.

Yes we are not flexible enough. But Critch was first time round so it can happen again. Barnsley didn't change the game that much, I thought, they just got a goal back and then we sat back and made too many changes.

He isn’t one of our best players. He’s mastered the Delfouneso last player to leave the pitch clapping gig and as a result people believe he’s better than he is. He’s a ‘attacking full back’ who doesn’t provide anything really going forward, and is far from assured defensively even at league 1 level.

He’s by no stretch a bad player, but I don’t believe it’ll be a big miss and is pretty easily replaceable. For the record, I don’t think CJ is the answer. But if we’re prepared to let him go there must be a suitor prepared to pay decent money, he’s probably one of our higher earners, so I personally wouldn’t be standing in his way.

The Reverse Model.

Spend a decent fee then sell for a loss. No way are we selling to Lincoln for a profit.

Here's My New Model. Don't make a huge loss on Jordy G and use that money to, err.....to be continued Sat 3pm.

They had to throw men forward. They were 3-0 down. While they were doing that we nearly scored a fourth. It can work both ways.

We can’t get Dembele as the asking price is now circa £2m and a host of Championship clubs are already falling over themselves to offer him Championship wages.
Why would you sell Apter ffs ?? He walks into this team next season.
Ooh they might want £2million so little old Blackpool can’t afford that and it’s not even worth enquiring…what a terrible attitude...we will have a bit to play with if we sell a few as makeweight and at present Dembele is at a totally different level to Apter who we won’t miss as he never plays for us..

And what about the lads wages?
Footballers ain't stupid he'll know he can command over 10k a week somewhere else on a 3 year deal.
Are you suggesting we can pay nearly 4 million or more for a player!

We'd need to recoup most of the transfer fee we spent on him. Ultimately he is too good to be on our bench, if selling him allows us to bring in Byers and a striker, then so be it.

He's a Championship player so the question is why are we selling our better players. Reminds me of when we started selling the likes of Andy Morrison. Write the next season off.

It also didn't help that Critchley brought off a strike for a DM when they got a goal back. We look fine until then, that screwed us.

Jordan was excellent when he was playing every week, in a position that let him play to his strengths.
He's had his injuries, which have obviously set him back. However, it is the fact that NC rarely gives him 90 minutes and when he does, he stifles his strengths & natural ability.
Even the best of footballers need regular game time. If they're not played or are substituted / brought on as a sub, then their performances & form will suffer. Jordan has been a victim of that.
He's a championship standard player, playing in L1 , who NC isn't getting the best from.
I'd love this to change next season, with Jordan still playing for us. However, if the above rumours are true, then sadly, we will lose a terrific fullback.

I have no doubt it will be a difficult challenge but if you don’t ask you don’t get..the other three loans are very attainable and we should be in for them all

What are you smoking ? Brest are likely going to be playing in the Champions League next season and now have a 20/21 year old attacking midfielder who’s being chased by Premier League and Championship clubs… take into account the premium they can charge purely because he’s got a UK passport and there’s absolutely ZERO chance he’s available for £2 million. £2 million with a 50% sell on fee - possibly. And after the season he‘s had he’ll fancy £15-20k per week.

Now also imagine you’re a 20 year old millionaire athlete with a bit of a celebrity status… now imagine your choice is Blsckpool (assuming they’re somehow competing financially) or any other club in Europe on the same wages… some of which will be in major metropolitan cities.

If you think Dembele returns you’re in cloud cuckoo land.

If we got promoted there’s maybe a slim chance we could get him back on loan. That’s it.

There have only ever been 2 players signed for 2m or more in L1 history. Far bigger clubs with far bigger budgets have been at this level before. I think you're a bit deluded.

Gabriel was supposed to be a shoe in but he hasn't been. Apter may or may not depending on whether Critchley rates him.

Gabriel has been out injured a lot of the time and has only 43 league starts in the three seasons since we paid 700k for him. Les than 15 per season. Good player but fragile.

Who is the other dissenting voice, if this is true? Connolly, Norburn or Joseph, I guess.
Casey?

Playing devils advocate (again…) which players that Critchley has released in his time with us, have gone on to prove him wrong? Not the ones we didn’t sign, but ones he signed and then released later.
We’re not releasing him Chunky, it’s more about the man management and the good players that left the club generally unhappy.

I’m waiting to see if Virtue is given a new contract and Connolly. It just feels to me that NC is happier with a certain type of player.

Critch seems incredibly fair minded to me, whatever faults he may have. Managing a squad can sometimes mean not pandering to lads who think they can make personal demands.

Byers is out of contract so as it stands he's on £0 pw next season.
Of course other Clubs may well offer him a similar deal to the one he is on now so he will obviously be looking around for the best deal taking into account length of contract, location and even the likelihood of regular game time.

On on the other hand Coulson is under contract so if we want him he would probably looking for a similar deal.
There's also potentially a transfer fee so lots of ifs, buts and maybes

If this is true I'd be thinking it the other player would be Connolly but I take it all with a pinch of salt
Yes it's not a good idea to buy into these rumours. Even if there's some truth they go down the Chinese whisper route.
