I tend to agree. If we had won today and somehow scabbed it through the POs to be promoted then the club would have had to spend some very serious money in the summer to have a hope of staying in the Championship. It’s better to build a strong skeleton of a team where we are, before promotion. Or at least that is what I presume is consolation for Mr Sadler.
To come back stronger next season means that Critchley will have to learn some hard lessons about tactics, attitudes and player judgement. My concern is that he hasn’t learned those lessons over 46 matches this season, especially the second half of it, so can we realistically expect him to change completely over the summer?
