Season Tickets

When do you think these will be on sale and surely they can’t be any more money than season just finished. Why are we always so late announcing season tickets ? All the other local clubs have had them on sale for ages. I went to maybe 13 home games this season so it’s getting close to just buying a ticket for one off games. Will wait to see the prices…

What’s your problem?

If you've been to 13 home games you are out of pocket versus the cost of a season ticket. If you are going to go to similar next season then maybe pay the £10 for the card so you can share or sell the (virtual) tickets you aren't using.

Except for a few games, the numerous home wins lacked entertaining football.

Even the need to beat Reading for a playoff bid failed to alter dire tactics.

Critchley's inability to change ensures another futile promotion tilt.

Season tickets at the current price, let alone higher, represent poor value.

Unless Sadler at last picks a better coach.

Futile or not, I'll be ready for another 'tilt'.

Same message I've been saying for 20 years - they should be on a 0% 12 month payment plan starting in April - the instalment can be tweaked if the price varies when announced in May.

This helps families budget

It allows for people to pay by cash / bank transfer.

Zero risk to club as 5 payments in by first game.

I'm ok nowadays and put mine and my lads on a 0% Credit card - not everyone has that luxury.

Let's see if the talk from Julian Winter and Co will be implemented, where we price it lower and have to hit a target to get that price or whatever way we want to do it.

Of course this wouldn't probably be even more well received under a new exciting manager and a season full of promise, but would still be decent as is, marketed correctly and with some good signings.

If we’re looking long term, it should be free for all primary school children, and heavily discounted for under 16s, they’re the future fan base
Not sure if I have remembered this correctly but did the clubs £5 junior season tickets a few seasons sell well but on match day they hardly turned up? I agree though that under 18 should be heavily subsidised. It needs a 10 year commitment from the club to hook these fans.

Family stand ST prices last season - U18 £49(£99 if you want North stand etc).
5-11 £29
Under 5's Free
They are heavily subsidised.

Match day pricing is a bit more trickier as you'd have to offer same kid deal to the away fans.

PNE’s are very well priced, especially for a 2nd Division team. Being in the 3rd it would be hoped that ours are no higher - and that this year we have the option of paying monthly….. though I’m not holding my breath on either.

PNE’s prices are good on the face of it, however it’s a massive gamble as they’ve massively lowered the value of the product and can’t increase prices unless they’re actually successful. So they’ve limited their income whilst already losing huge sums and they’re potentially 1 bad season from a complete financial catastrophe.

Personally I think our ticketing prices are about right. Payment plans are problematic if it results in fans ending up in difficulty or the club having to go down the route of taking enforcement action on non-payees.

Theres maybe scope for the supporters groups to do something? Block book tickets for those in financial difficulties, arrange their own payment plans etc.

Every time these types of threads come up we hear about those who have some cheep deal in a stand in the ground.
How about a bit of balance for those who charge more.

Easy solved. Direct debit. £350 season ticket spread out over 5 £70 payments.

You fail to pay a month your season ticket gets cancelled and you can’t buy one next season via direct debit. Has to be in full

I'm not going on about watching them I'm making the point they are in the Championship, we are in League 1 and we will likely have more expensive tickets than them the season. We are hardly in a position to laugh at them are we?
Who’s laughing at them? My comment was saying no matter how cheap the tickets are… you’re still watching Prescum…

That’s not to say that I don’t enjoy when they fook up 😀
Ps like tonight 😂

Not as easy as you make out that's a whole fiance department to do credit checks etc.

It is that easy though. No money, they don’t get the season ticket and have to wait a year to apply again.

Fans are told the risks before hand. If they can afford it they get it. Easier than paying out £350 in one whack

So the club become a fiance company?

I prefer the Fleetwood model direct debit over 12 months and you don't renew until you cancel with a small amount every month.

I think it's good to do a similar sort of pricing deal for a club like us, who needs to build the fanbase up after years of losing them for various reasons.

It seemed to be something JW was keen on doing, as he did it at Huddersfield. Where if you sell say 10k we all pay the lower amount of X. It generates a buzz and gets all the supporters and supporters clubs banging the drum and pushing sales.

Of course ideally it's best with a fresh start, new manager and everyone full of hope an optimism and a brand of football or potential football to sell. But can of course still work as is.

As for the nobbers I hope they actually have a bad season for once and then we'd see things really unravel.

They're up for sale. It's to show to investors that there is a large core of supporters. Cheap tickets. Get back to the market rate and they'd lose thousands.

I doubt if supporters groups have the necessary FSA licences to act in a fiduciary capacity.

The payment plan now is decent. Don’t see what’s wrong with it tbh. Spread it over 6 months. Costs about £15 more but don’t mind paying that as appreciate there is work/cost involved.

You don't get the early bird deal on finance so pay a bit more than £15.

I think it's one of those summers where we might get momentum as we go along with decent signings but as it is you're looking at the 5,000 regulars and to be honest as long as you don't go mad, they will buy whatever and so I'd expect a small increase.
The thing the club fail to do is 'on the day' deals and attracting and incentivising non season ticket holders.

I like having the same seats for when I go. I paid the extra £20 for a card and gave it away as often as I could. For me it’s one of the most boring seasons I can remember the football has been dull and the tmosphere has not been great. Shote league and we should have got out of it. Much tougher next season imo

Selling very cheap tickets is always a risk. No guarantee it will bring many more people in to cover the cost of selling them cheaper, and it just means people that were getting them anyway get them at a bargain.

we have a core of loyal supporters, and if I am honest do we really think many more fans would get one if they were on a early bird offer?

i think they would Southern but only if it’s marketed correctly and yes we have some meaningful recruitment during the summer. A little like dare i say the knobbers did, season before last. It was all over social media, fans leaflet dropping and an on going tally.
