    Terry Downes, the boxer, gave me 50p when he stayed at our hotel in Reads Ave late 70’s. I was about 9 I saw Ian Holloway in Paddington station and shouted Ian as loud as I could manage. He looked embarrassed but he stopped. Had a piss next to Ian Wright in a pub in Waterloo

    Turkish and Greek Football Clubs

    I lived in Athens in the 90s and regularly went to Panathinaikos home and away. If you can make a big Athens derby you will enjoy a cracking atmosphere. I sometimes wore a Blackpool shirt and was made very welcome however there used to be serious trouble on occasions.

    Driving to Alicante

    I am currently in La Senia south Catalunya. We took the ferry from Plymouth to Santander and will return from Bilbao to Portsmouth. It takes 24 hours and really breaks up the journey. Recommended unless you particularly like driving for days

    Pub tomorrow Marylebone

    No It’s another globe round the corner from Marylebone Station. More of a community local pub. The one opposite Baker Street is a proper tourist pub. Used to get very busy on match days. Coppers closes some of the pubs if they are expecting crowds.

    The landlord of my local said he is happy to open at 1130 for ‘Pool fans tomorrow for anyone travelling from Marylebone / Baker Street. it is the Globe on Lisson Gove http://www.theglobemarylebone.co.uk/ Better beer than the sports bar in the station and has outdoor section.
