Here's the breakdown of EFL Cup money this season and even though 7,000 was a poor attendance for Derby wasn't bad in comparison to others last night and there's another another £50k in the pot. Little run in these competitions undoubtedly eases the finances.

Blimey it’s not much is it. Just have to hope we get a kind draw. There’s always one club who gets to the semis who you wouldn’t expect so why not us.

it just me thinking that table is total Nixon. The prizemoney doesn't make a total of 1m and how do 16 teams get reduced to 4 next round- should be 8.

Explanation provided for the £1m.

Can’t believe the prize money, adds up to £237k for the winner, pretty pathetic, when you take account of costs, travel etc.

Have the ball numbers been confirmed yet for tonight's draw?

I see just 12 Prem clubs are joining in the next round.

The winners get 100k, it's not cumulative. Think 'Who wants to be a millionaire' with each step a guaranteed minimum. As you say, pathetic in this day and age.

We should just about have enough to cover our loses for that EFL fine by round 4. 😞

Best hope is to get a top premier club away and with sharing the gate receipt’s we would end up being better off financially than winning the cup 😂🤣😂🤣😂 surly those figures cannot be right

I look at those figures and can't help thinking clubs could make more money from it by allowing streaming. Not allowing it just so Sky can show the goals exclusively is mad. If you want to generate interest, which in turn will probably increase what you can charge the sponsor, allow clubs to stream it FFS. Not many would be able to travel on a midweek, but at the same time many would be willing to pay to watch the whole game. You'd probably double the audience last night, at least.
In this day and age, only being able to see the goals on a vidiprinter show just isn't good enough. Same with 3pm Saturday games tbh.

It appears that both clubs get the £5000 for round 1, this method runs up to round 4 where every team gets £15000. In the quarters and semis, only the losers gets £25000.
