Given Mr Sadler’s interest in value for money, I wonder if anyone has directed him to this article in The Athletic?
The crux is that a growing number of companies are setting up with the intention of helping clubs source and sign young players from Africa. And the upsides, at least, seem massive … players who could be had for $100,000 not long ago going for millions.
Obviously there are risks, not least the fake birth certificate phenomenon. But given the work permit rules allowing us to sign two young players outside the usual restrictions, it might be something to look at?
