Nice to be getting the summer's Test Cricket underway at 11am today at Lord's with 7,500 fans in attendance.

James Bracey making his test debut, keeping wicket and batting at 7. Stokes and Archer out, with Buttler rested.

With my Lancs-tinted specs on, I feel for Parky not getting a shot... but there's a chance we don't even start Leach today.

Don’t recognise half the team. IPL seems to have buggered us

Really? Top 6 in the batting order all featured quite a lot in Tests over the past year or so. Foakes/Stokes are injured and Buttler rested (that one is because of IPL), so Bracey handed debut. Robinson is a debutant but then Broad, Anderson and Wood are all familiar faces.

God test match cricket can sometimes be so so slow.
I’am sure I just heard one of the commentators say since lunch 19 overs had been bowled for just 3 runs. 😳

Lords may be the 'Home of cricket' but they prepare shite pitches which lead to dull test matches.

Give me Edgbaston, Trent Bridge, Old Trafford any day of the week.

I didn’t see the Ollie Robinson stuff coming at close of play!!

He was shaking and nearly in tears!!!!

Yesterday was tough watching, this session has been excellent. Anything around 350 would be a great turn around.

Wickets falling doesn't augur well for our innings? Conway's contribution could be the match winning one. I've not watched it though, no idea what the wickets like?

Sibley and Burns in horrible form for England. Can't say I'd like to be in pads now against this NZ attack...

Shame about that last partnership but that is still an excellent effort to get them all out for 378 given their overnight position.

Now whether we can get close or go past the NZ 1st innings is another matter.

I was hoping Jimmy takes 6 wickets in this match, which would take him to 620 test wickets and he'll be the 3rd highest wicket taker of all time. For a pace bowler, that's remarkable. Now at 616 compared to Kumbles's 619.

Sibley dismissal was un uncharacteristically poor decision by the umpire. NZ second appeal was closer and he didn't give it.

This will be a kiss of death, but things have settled down a little. Burns has stuck at it.

After betting on a draw, I was delighted when yesterday’s play was rained off. I forgot that I was still relying on England to force the draw 🤪

Here comes the tail end collapse after a very good partnership had steadied the ship a little. The best we can hope for is one of Broad's cameos and a bit of resistance from Jimmy. It looks like we will need to bat 2 and 1/2 sessions to save this test.

Not sure if it’s been said elsewhere but Lords is looking good with the new stands.
Compton and Eldrich stands look very nice, the next to go is the little stand to the left of the Pavilion. With the Oval also undergoing big development which will make it the largest capacity in the country, things should be even more boisterous when the Aussies tour again.
