🙏🙏🙏 Please Grimmy …

Watching on TTV I felt much more comfortable with him in goal. When Maxwell plays I can hardly watch when there is a set piece or cross coming in. I think Grimshaw put in an assured performance and gave the defenders the confidence they have been so desperately searching for. He came for crosses when he had to and I think the one in the first half where it looked like he had messed up his punch, he actually did get solid contact on the ball but it looked like Nelson's hand got in the way. That's why the Wigan players were appealing for a penalty. I particularly liked when he came quickly off his line when Nelson underhit his back pass in the second half. I doubt Maxwell would have made it in time, or would have stayed rooted on his line. It's an absolute must that Grimshaw keeps the shirt if we are to have any chance of staying up.

Flapped at two in the first half and they could easily have scored from both. At the time I said to the guy next to me if that’s maxwell he gets pelters. Still think it’s the right decision from SD and a lot of his teamates were hugging him at the end

We shouldn't overlook Grimmy's first touch of the match... a difficulf bouncing ball that wasn't going to carry into his area - He calmly headed it to our player (Hubby) and the danger abated.
Absolutely- Maxwell would of run to it and hoofed it out - or ran and stopped

That wasn’t flapping like Maxwell does

A big improvement between the sticks. Much more assured, composed and better concentration. He’s not played for such a long time but he did what he had to do. Clean sheet. Needs a run of games now.

Ahh is that what happened with that one 1st half, either way he got down rapidly to stop their shot from it and was in the right place.

I'm glad he's back in, he's not played in a while too, hopefully gives him confidence.

His distribution was frightening.
Which bits? 1st half was playing it around no issue. 2nd is harder for me to see but I did see the pass to lyons for eg, who may not have wanted it, but most other sides make those sort passes and are able to deal with it and play out.

I think it's his city upbringing, he'll play it out and find players, some of ours haven't been thr best at fealing with it like other teams.

So we do need to be careful, if we stick doing it we'll improve, even in a short time.

What we don't want to do is abaddon playing out if that is outer philosophy because of a few close moments.

Even sides like Burnley were making an absolutely hash of playing our early season.
