10,000 at home to Stevenage in league 1

Yesterday was an improvement in atmosphere although still not what it was which is understandable. Good numbers for a league one match against Stevenage.

Very good effort that, crowds have been a bit better than I expected for this season so far.
Yet some still say the stadium is big enough now, when you build for decades ahead.

Depending on what you give away fans, we might have 13k maybe for home fans.

Whilst enough for now, in not long at all, with a promotion and couple of good seasons, maybe even a good price point and ticket promotions, a bit of growth and we could already be maxing that out for big games in the championship.

If every seat in the home areas was taken up, including those in the South East corner, how many seats are there?

I still think we won't ever fill the ground.
It is definitely growing but it's a little bit here and there...

Just over 10.5k in the 3 sides not including hospitality.

Apparently 738 hospitality.

You never know. It's a snowball effect. Norwich used to get 14,000 gates and now get 25,000. We used to get 4,000 gates and now get 10,000.

We also now have an owner people believe in who is making the club better and better each year. We have more pride in the club than ever before. On top of this, women are now so much more into football so wives and daughters are attending in greater numbers. If we do well in the next 5 years and all these factors continue to make positive impacts, you might be looking at 12-15,000 home fans regularly attending.

Yeah, was expecting a crowd under 10'000 for this one, very impressive.

I feel like it would be a shame not to build a slightly bigger east stand, nothing crazy just around 6500 to push our capacity up near 18'000. Admittedly though I have no idea of the logistics or cost increase that would entail.

Just seems like a wasted opportunity to have 4500 seats in it which would actually decrease our overall total capacity without the restrictions.

I'm a fan of weird football stadium design (that sloping stand at the dell was a thing of beauty) so would accept a compromise of a weird 2-tiered NE corner twice the height of the rest of the ground. Currently our most interesting architectural "feature" is the sloping roof connecting the south to the east which I appreciate as it gives us a bit of quirk.

The fanbase has definitely grown, 10k home fans consistently in League One after a woeful season last season is a great effort.

You see plenty of youngsters as well, we were concerned the boycott may have stunted us but we've bounced back faster than anyone probably would have guessed.

A quick promotion to the Championship post-boycott certainly wouldn't have harmed us!

Attendances at EFL games are normally higher when it’s international break.
I doubt I will make the Cheltenham game and many ex pats will give it a miss.
Hopefully decent gate against Posh.

The atmosphere definitely didn't match the attendance.
For me the football we’re playing isn’t really conducive to a good atmosphere. It’s all very safe and slow, and about waiting for the opposition to make a mistake. I noticed even on Saturday there were still some groans when we played backwards.

However the third goal showed that it can work, and we’ve only lost 2 out of the last 9 games. Players and coach deserve some patience and I think the attendance on Saturday shows they’re getting it. Saying that, I’d expect the atmosphere to stay how it’s been.

We were underdogs in that first championship season and so every win was massive, regardless of how we played, and that led to probably the best atmosphere we’ve generated since the premier league season. It’s a completely different situation this season, and with no disrespect to Stevenage, it’s hardly a fixture people are going to get massively up for.
