12 steps to Lennon

My wife is well into searching family trees and has managed to get her own family way back to the 1600's, and hasn't proven it as yet, but seems to be related somewhere along the line to Hereward the Wake. I always knew she was trouble. šŸ™„

She has already found that I am, by marriage, distantly related to David Attenborough which was a surprise but yesterday she informed me that I am also 12 steps away in relation to John Lennon, again through marriage.

Is there anyone else who has interesting connections in their family?

Like you Wilf, I was related to Lennon through marriage. My first wife ( who had several relatives who were Lennons), was a cousin to one who was closely related to JL and a carbon copy of Julian his son. He even wore round glasses like JL to make the likeness even more prominent.

Itā€™s a minefield, I gave up trying to find my paternal grandmother, married my grandfather who apparently was from Lambeth, she was called Ruby Williams, so I assume she was Welsh, but seems sheā€™s just invisible.

On the other side I got back further, but really, there a lot of supposition; thatā€™s probably him/her, so letā€™s go with that.

HAVE a look at the film knowhere boy from 2009 . Depicts Lennons early life . Aunt Mimi who he spent most of his formative years with is played my Kristen Scott thomas. Lennon was played by an actor who seemed to disappear without trace. worth a look.

Aaron Taylor Johnson is a hugely successful and famous actor.

Thereā€™s a heartwarming scene at the end of the film ā€œYesterdayā€ involving Lennon in his old age. The plot is that the main character wakes up from a coma in a world without The Beatles, Oasis, cigarettes and Coca Cola. One of my favourite films as it goes šŸ˜Ž

I have a DNA connection with someone with the surname Presley, she is my 5th - 8th cousin, I have no idea where the connection is. However she has a family tree which includes her distant cousin Elvis.

My brother and I have traced our family tree back to the 17th century, and we're not related to anyone vaguely well known at all. C'est la vie

Jon Bon Jovi has a wolfhound that is a distant cousin to my lurcher.
My mates wife sucked off Gary Pallister, no idea what that's got to do with much but thinking about it makes me chuckle.

Surely you can retrace your family tree back to the 1600ā€™s more easily from personal experience? Arenā€™t you related to Goneback the Sleepy? šŸ™ƒšŸ˜œ
