Watched the game on TV. Still wanted us to win. Arguably we wouldn't be in the Championship now without that win.On sky now
Can't remember a few of the team.
Strange time
I don't believe Johnno he would have ever relinquished control of HIS club whatever happened. We had some pretty heated arguments on the old board back then, didn’t we?
In hindsight it was good we won it, but I’ll admit that back then I was one who believed any success would extend the old regime.
Poignant words TorycornerIt was “Oyston FC NOT Blackpool FC”
One of the “worst days of my life” my partner of 20 years was 2 months away from dying after a “four year spirited fight” against a terminal illness.
I’ve forgiven every mushroom empowered by that’s how she would expect me to behave.
And……her family were “family history” Preston Fans.

Helped my wife at a charity event that afternoon ( this from a fan since 63!). Wasn’t interested- still can’t believe that some of my ‘friends’ wentBack in 2017, I watched less than 10 mins on Sky and turned over. I just had no feeling at all for that team. No disrespect to the players, it was just a job for them.
I couldn’t bear to see those

Or non leagueNever seen it or the semi finals, which I kind of feel bad about now as without it we'd be League One now.
And there were some on here thinking a drop to the National League would force a sale. The exact opposite for me. The lower we went in the pyramid, the less drain on the Oystons' resources we were, so the promotion under Bowyer was a good thing. You say that @Sooty59 - I still think we have a lot to thank Bowyer for. Made the club a much more attractive proposition. Bet Sadler was glad he could start in League One and not potentially the National League which is pretty much where we were heading.
With hindsight after the court case I’d agree. But at the time I wasn’t interested in anything that would possibly prolong the Oystons tenure. You say that @Sooty59 - I still think we have a lot to thank Bowyer for. I agree with both your comments, but at the time we were at WAR……there was no time for “pleasant maybes”With hindsight after the court case I’d agree. But at the time I wasn’t interested in anything that would possibly prolong the Oystons tenure.
Relegation would have prolonged their tenure. They would have been able to live more comfortably on a smaller budget. With hindsight after the court case I’d agree. But at the time I wasn’t interested in anything that would possibly prolong the Oystons tenure.
Did anybody actually consider that horrible possibility back then?Relegation would have prolonged their tenure. They would have been able to live more comfortably on a smaller budget.
We'll never know for sure, I'm just thankful things turned out like they have & I don't stumble across any of those wankers ever again.Relegation would have prolonged their tenure. They would have been able to live more comfortably on a smaller budget.
Some were actively promoting it as a good thing.Did anybody actually consider that horrible possibility back then?
Irrelevant if we won or lost they would have carried on in their own way.Relegation would have prolonged their tenure. They would have been able to live more comfortably on a
CockCracking day out in London! We had more fans at that final than the most recent one! UTP!
Mixed emotions although I despise the owner I could never want Blackpool to lose that’s what made it doubley hard .I understand wanting the Oystons out and I am sure every supporter wanted that to happen but I don’t understand actively wanting other teams to beat them. It’s good that we won that final and losing and any relegation would surely not have guaranteed the removal of the regime.
Valeri Belokon was the biggest reason they were removed whatever his motivation but the protests and boycotts clearly helped.
Surely everyone is still a supporter of Blackpool FC however they chose to object at the time .
HOME AND AWAY NO MATTER WHAT!Cock
Don't remember anything about Luton & yes I was was furious when the team in orange scored, it was my hatred of what the owner was doing & I dealt with my own way. I couldn't separate team & owners, even after the homecoming watching those same players felt like going back to a serial cheating ex. I got told just drop the angst & your love will return (wise words) & it did. Just thinking about that scum still makes my blood boil though. There were several on here supporting Luton and Exeter during the play offs.
Probably the most untalked about, but amazing things that illustrate our wonderful fan base. That chasm, that divide could have stayed and been here now. A club our size needs unity. That is our strength. It was “Oyston FC NOT Blackpool FC”
