32 clubs in the USA June / July 2025. Man City Real Madrid and Chelsea already qualified.

With fixture congestion as it is, is this event feasible ? What impact will it have on domestic tournaments like the League Cup ?

Looks to me like FIFA are muscling in on UEFA’s revenues ….

Remember they play 8 fewer League games than us, and skip two rounds of the Cups. That's 12 up on with already with better and deeper squads.

No sympathy at all.
 
It is all about revenue streams for FIFA, fundamentally. They are looking for ways to close the gap between them and UEFA.

I don't think it will be long before the PFA and its equivalents abroad will cry foul, or clubs themselves will start sending B teams to this (to the extent that they can, contractually).

The summer before a FIFA World Cup usually sees 2 or 3 qualification games.

So what are top players supposed to do? Do those qualification games then move onto the World Club Cup?

When do they get a rest?
