23/24 key dates - at last !

Last Saturday of the season will be 27th April if the league 1 play off final is 18th May. No mention of the FA cup as that's nothing to do with the EFL.

If the last Saturday is indeed 27th April, maybe the EFL would like to tell us?
Of course there's no mention of the FA Cup, 'cos it's run by..........the FA. The clue's in the name.

The play off finals are two legs a week apart - look at this season's fixtures for confirmation - with the final the following week. Given that, the last week of the season must be three weeks before the play off final, making it the last weekend in April.

Shame it starts 5 August. Personally am in favour of it being 29 July or last weekend from now, particularly after the season just gone, giving another weekend match - surely this is better for ticket sales/attendances than a crappy midweek night in the Winter. Absolutely hate midweek nights in the winter, but that's probably my exile biasness.

Or, utilise the last weekend of July for EFL Cup Round 1 - a bit similar to what they do in Scotland? The attendances are crap, so having it on a weekend may actually bost the value of the tournament a little bit, something the EFL cup needs.
 
Wembley hosts Champions League final 2024 on 1st June. UEFA get the stadium for 10 days prior hence why play offs are 2 weeks earlier.

It's the Euros next summer, need the season finishing early to accommodate that. All league and cup matters will have to be completed by the end of the third week in May to give three weeks for the international squads to prepare.
