The poor attendance at last nights game rests firmly with the FA and their shambolic handling of this tie, if it had gone ahead on the 2nd Dec instead of being called off at 6pm the night before then the attendance would have been much higher!
Correct TB.

There were 13 of us booked into hospitality for the game on 2/12 to celebrate two family birthdays earlier that week.

After the FA postponement, just three of us 'Usual Suspects' made the game last night.

What a FAck-up, in more ways than one!😡

Still more than Fleetwood got for a league game against Peterborough last Saturday! I really don't know how he continues to support that club.
But it is still a very poor attendance

It would be interesting to know what the ticket sales were up to the late postponement as I reckon we’d have had double that and more perhaps

We should be suing the FA for compensation re loss of revenue or at least the difference between the Saturday gate and the actual gate

It’s absolutely ridiculous and to change the rules re no replay just to maximise an even bigger loss !

Blackpool FC, both sets of fans and out Town’s ‘bouncing’ hospitality lost out big time

And no we won’t make up our losses against N Forest

It's an interesting topic though. Has the advent of the Premier League and Champions League devalued what was at one time England's and the world's most prestigious competition. With teams from all walks able to enter and compete, the FA cup had a magic to it that other competitions simply didn't have and yet now we see an apathy to it that would a one time been reserved for the likes of the FA trophy or the league cup. And yet sometimes the magic still shines - look at Cray Valley at Charlton for example, for those Cray Valley fans it must've been akin to going to Wembley itself and for lower league teams that go on a good run, the magic re-ignites. It's just a shame it wasn't there tonight - it was a good game as a Pool supporter, the team never looked troubled, but the atmosphere was easily the worst I've ever experienced at BR. Ah well, on to Forest, let's hope the apathy abates by then.
I think the FA Cup suffered greatly after Manchester United withdrew from the 1999/2000 competition.

Yet again you’re twisting things Wiz. The club isn’t being criticised at all, it’s the manager and his style of play that’s putting fans off going
Nonsense. Midweek against FGR was always going to be a low gate, especially with 6 games in just over a fortnight.

Yer but it’s a town of just 24,000 not 144,000 😉

Even the Nobbers are taking the piss.

Even the nobbers? They'll always try and take the piss yet contradict themselves all the time. Like when they claimed we stopped going not because of the boycott, but because we went down, but then all came back in the very league we apparently were trying to avoid.

It wasn't an amazing crowd but it was a game we should have played on a weekend, moved to a weeknight, people annoyed at the way the FA handled it, also with little enthusiasm for the opposition or little excitement for the next round opponents for us to get though. Also we're not pulling up any trees in the league and just lost.

They were laughing at the attendance in the tinpot cup last time. Yet Derby, who are miles bigger than the nobbers, only got just less than 2k that night. They're deranged when it comes to us.

I see Pompey lost to Wimbledon in the BSM Trophy 5 2 at home. This board would combust if we did that.
No it wouldn’t. Most of us who are only interested in league success would be quite happy to be out of an irrelevant crappy cup competition

Maybe I’m speaking for myself and a few friends then because I would have definitely gone last night like I have to nearly all the FA Cup games in the last 40 or so years if I thought I was going to be entertained. Critchley’s style of football bores me to death to the point of not wanting to go anymore, you can spin that any way you want to 👍🏼

Your choice. I don't agree with it, but that's my choice.

I think you should go to league one games to support your team. You wont get consistent entertainment from any lower league team with a mixture of has beens and young pro's learning the game.

Same here.

So it wasn’t a low gate then?

I’ve said nothing at all about the game itself because I didn’t go but it’s clearly winding you up because it was a low gate.

Chill out it’s Christmas.
No, what's winding me up is people slagging the club for it being a low gate, yet not going themselves.

How many times??? Nobody is slagging the club, it’s the manager and his boring style of play

'We need to boycott while the Oystons are here'

'Yes, definitely, but what if it drags on?'

'We can set up an independent club, doesn't matter what league we're in'

'Brilliant! But where do I get my football fix now?'

'Fleetwood do a lovely spread...'

Now...

'Going tonight'

'Nah, can't be arsed'

There is just a general apathy amongst the fanbase at the moment which certainly contributed to the poor gate. Anyone denying that isn't living in the real world.

We are in a position where we have to win our home games (thankfully we do most) because away from home you can almost predict a defeat against lowly League One clubs. With the players we have, it's so demoralising seeing the team struggle away from home when we should be doing so much better.

Hadn’t seen any of those

I can sense this from my far removed position, I have felt there has been something not right since March of 2022 and then soon after Critchley left.

No one seems to want to challenge it but the atmosphere and the passion has gone so it appears the fans must also feel the same, it’s quite distressing to witness even from afar.

Tuesdays attendance figure was a bit pathetic tbh, the club need to understand what’s driving this apathy and get it dealt with sharpish other wise I can see us drifting into another thirty years of a shitshow.

So it's good that BST are holding the FA to account for it.

I didn’t go last night so didn’t watch it or indeed listen to it on the radio as it was our boat clubs Christmas party night last night but that gate was just shocking I honestly thought we would get at least 5,000 on last night.
I assume FGR brought a few hundred which makes it even worse a home gate under 3k. 😮
Forest Green brought 130 & official attendance was actually 3,318 as given on Twitter by Blackpool FC

Agree with Diggers … ‘Premier League and Champions League have devalued what was at one time England's and the world's most prestigious club competition’

TBH … was having a chat in The Armfield about this pre-match … we still love the FA Cup 🧡 - it’s a good job that sometimes even their best new keys will not open our traditional old locks … 🤣
We will all be back on board when we stuff Forest at the City ground!

People want to be entertained, our style of football isn’t entertaining so people don’t go
Maybe we are watching too much Premier League and Champions League football and expect to see the same from us!
Don’t forget we’re League 1.
To be quite honest I’ve enjoyed a lot of the matches watching Rhodes popping em in, Dembele showing his class, CJ sprinting down the wing, Kenny mastering the midfield - perhaps I’m easily pleased 😂
