In my opinion the 3 players we are missing most from the CRITCHLEY CULL,are GRANDULET,SPEARING AND ALNWICK
.If ALNWICK is good enough for THE SCOTTISH PREMIERSHIP,then surely good enough for us.
As far as SPEARING is concerned,he had his good times at BFC,and he had his lean times,but by releasing him CRITCHLEY lost all continuity from a captaincy point of view.Sure everyone expected VIRTUE to fill that role,but at the moment he's just a constant SICK NOTE player.
Now GRANDULET,as leading goal scorer,by far,it wasn't hard to see the difficulty in replacing him.No matter why he wanted to leave, I don't believe enough effort was put into encouraging him to stay.
Replacement MADINE is all HUSTLE AND BUSTLE type of player,and so far YATES looks so unconvincing in a one too one with any opposition defender.
Which leaves us with C J ,and it's become embarrassingly obvious how to reduce his effectivity,"SIMPLES" MAN MARK HIM WITH THE OPPOSITIONS BEST DEFENDER.
IPSWICH did it,CREWE did it, and once PURRINGTON had been sent off CHARLTON did it.
The team needs a good BACKBONE,all teams do ,but we need it quick 5 home games goneafter SATURDAY,and if no win then, like it or not,THE CRITCHLEY CULL has a lot to answer for.
