30 years ago today

Yep, Andy Garner had a great game. I can remember him hurdling that challenge on the left wing.
I was in the South, about half way up the terracing. So I was one the fans running down the steps to stay on my feet after each goal because the terracing wasn't full enough for a surge all the way down.

Agree about the video quality as well.

And then we played them away about a month later didn’t we? 1-1 in front of over 18000 in the 4th division.

Or am I getting my seasons mixed up?!

I was in the West Paddock just in front of Oyston, to the camera's left. Garner racing past twice is burned onto my memory.

We were very strong down the left with Dylan Kerr, David Eyres and Andy Garner. Remember being gutted when we didn't sign Kerr on a permanent basis. Kerr's had a much travelled career as both a player and coach

Was in the South paddock that game, two top lower league sides going right at it,but got to thank Mark Kendall RIP for his contribution!.

The steward in the kop is ace at about 1.20 just before they show Old Scarecrow for the first time 🏝️😂

I was in the south Paddock that day. In fact you can see me doing some weird ducking move at 3.20😂

I still remember not being able to celebrate Kerr's goal because I was eating a chicken and mushroom pot noodle. Boiling hot it was!

As some mentioned, we played them away a month later and drew 1-1 with 18k there. I remember it well, being stood on the Longside right next to the Dingles. Just before kick off they burned a Blackpool scarf and chanted 'what the ** hell is that'

There was something so very enjoyable about those 2 seasons in the 4th division under Billy

I was in the seats in the West that day, I can't remember why because I think that's the only time I ever was.

There were Burnley supporters in there who celebrated a goal when they got back in the game only for us to go score again straight after and we gave it them back, all good natured banter.

Great days. That match was special and, yes, a month or so later we went to Turf Moore with about 17000 watching. Not as many as the season before where god knows how many were there.

And a word of acknowledgment for Owen’s passion. Great to see and something the new guard can learn from.

Went there several times around that period, but these days they all get a bit mixed together.

Things I can remember:
DBs header from Trev's great cross, right in front of us.
Did we lose the others 2-0 and 3-1? A short lived forward called Dave Lancaster scored?
One of them was next after one of the horror shows at home, and the mood in the camp was bad. Then everyone turned up at Turf Moor, Billy came out and shook his head like he couldn't believe so many had come after last time. Then the first pump, place erupted.

I was 14 and this was one of my first games I went to with my dad. Been loads of times before, but due to my dad working away from home, he wasn’t around for footy. Good times, RIP fella.

Yep I think I went to a few with you. Just remember Mitch Cook having a great game in one of them but I think we lost. Many years later I went on a corporate with a paper company who had a box. John Durnin was upfront for us and not long after the game started he somehow sprung the offside trap near the touch line and got a 10 yard head start on their full back. He was so slow though the guy was catching him hand over fist and I instinctively stood and yelled for him ‘to get a move on please’ or words to that effect. I then realised that there were several hundred pairs of eyes turning round looking at me from the stand below so I very quickly sat down again and didn’t murmur another word for the rest of the game. We lost that one too.

Yep, was in the south paddock, cracking game. Eyres was mint.

I was sat in the West not too far from Oyston and always remember Andy Garner galloping down the left for that goal.

I think both games were 18k iirc
