If it raises revenue for the club, where is the issue?I've nothing against people buying BFC merchandise: joggers, sweatshirts t-shirts, sports tops in any colour. What we don't need is a 3rd kit.
See the thread "Cheery Sunday Reading" where posters ruminate on the over-commercialisation of football. I'm not objecting to the club raising revenue but nobody needs a third kit.If it raises revenue for the club, where is the issue?
Ah well, fortunately a few grumpy old men aren't the ones who are making commercial decisions on behalf of the club.See the thread "Cheery Sunday Reading" where posters ruminate on the over-commercialisation of football. I'm not objecting to the club raising revenue but nobody needs a third kit.
I suspect you're confusing commercialism with football dear heart. It's an easy mistake to make in these days of libertarian capitalistic hedonism.Ah well, fortunately a few grumpy old men aren't the ones who are making commercial decisions on behalf of the club.
Some clubs need a third kit, I find Blackpool do when their away kit is white, playing teams in red and white stripes means both (home & away) kits are a bit of a clash, a third kit of blue solves that.
I’m 5’8 and quite slender so got a medium. It’s not overly tight but it’s snug fitting. Looks good. How is the fit for this top - looking at getting one for my lad who's 18.
OK, I'll buy that. Some clubs need a third kit, I find Blackpool do when their away kit is white, playing teams in red and white stripes means both (home & away) kits are a bit of a clash, a third kit of blue solves that.

When, in my opinion, it's the nicest of the three - why not. Strangely I think some of our best kits have been the third kit. What we don't need is a 3rd kit.
There isn’t one....except for old farts spoiling the fun for others. If it raises revenue for the club, where is the issue?
Plenty want one though as plenty have been sold.See the thread "Cheery Sunday Reading" where posters ruminate on the over-commercialisation of football. I'm not objecting to the club raising revenue but nobody needs a third kit.
They'll be the same fans bemoaning the lack of signing a suitable centre half, with the irony going straight over their heads. There isn’t one....except for old farts spoiling the fun for others.
Then perhaps they could call it, 'a kit that fans like to wear but that isn't needed in a match to tell us apart from the opposition'.Plenty want one though as plenty have been sold.
Thank god people who are with it make the decisions not grumpy killjoys.
No....Then perhaps they could call it, 'a kit that fans like to wear but that isn't needed in a match to tell us apart from the opposition'.
Hmm, not a very zippy title is it?
and for those who don't like the third kit, might there be a 4th kit? One with a penny-round collar perhaps - just for going out clubbing in, you understand.No....
That’s why 3rd kit covers the description accurately....
What an incredibly odd post.
It surely is needed when we’re playing a team like, for example, Sunderland which both the home and away kit would clash with. Then perhaps they could call it, 'a kit that fans like to wear but that isn't needed in a match to tell us apart from the opposition'.

They'll be the same fans who can get one off a bloke at the back of South Shore market for a tenner. Exactly the same design but by Pooma. They'll be the same fans bemoaning the lack of signing a suitable centre half, with the irony going straight over their heads.

He used the term "clubbing".Do you realise how out of touch you are??
I guess not.
I set that one up just for you.Do you realise how out of touch you are??
I guess not.
Looks like I set it up for more than just Mr Puma.He used the term "clubbing".
That is how out of touch he is

Blackpool shirts are £45. England shirts are £70.It's a great shirt but I don't want to buy it without looking at it for fit. I'm a medium in normal t shirts but I suspect it might be best to go a size up? I'm just under 6 foot.
In defence of my 'grumpy old man spoiling the fun for everyone' thread, I don't think we 'need' a third kit but I don't really have an issue with a third kit, we sell all sorts of merch we don't use in games after all. We'll find a reason to wear it a few times and that'll bring money in, which is just what we need to do.
I do have more of an issue with the inflating price of shirts in general and the growing feeling that the way to be 'a fan' is to buy stuff.
That's a sign of the times and the way it is and I'm as keen to say 'shut up and take my money' as the next man but it's outrageous that shirts are up to £65+ and produced in crap conditions at that. At the top level in particular, that funds a situation whereby one play probably takes home in a week what an entire factory that makes the shirts earn in a year*
*Figures entirely made up.
Fun spoiled, hypocrisy shown.
Friday night, lad, liven up ffs.
