4 years??

Unless it was Jurgen Klopp or Pep I don’t think we should be doing 4 year deals for any new Manager?
We bemoaned the lack of continuity under the Oystons. If they're sure they've got the right man, then why not?

They'll be guaranteed to get good gym take up in the facility under the South Stand at least.

They wanted someone else earlier in the week but got knocked back so what is he? The second right man? They can't be that sure.
Baffling.

Why not a two plus two but not 4 years
When sacked at Christmas we will owe him 3 1/2 years wages.
Maybe Mansford gets his 10%

Critch recently signed a 4 1/2 year contract.
Look how well that went. 😟
Trust in SS. You know, the guy who 2 years ago saved the club.
I've got a vague feeling that SS knows what he's doing.

There’s no reason to have a 4 year contract for a new man unproven in the league, simple as that. Even if they went for a 2+2 deal it would at least make sense. Mansfords link as a previous agent with Appleton is concerning to say the least, feels like he’s appointed his mate on a big contract - like another poster said, Rosenior turned us down a couple of days ago so how can you be so confident in the second/third choice???

Whole situation reeks, fans made their feelings clear and Ben didn’t listen, in fact he did the total opposite.

We don’t know the ins and outs of his contract, there will be loads of clauses related to performance. It makes no difference to us as fans, he won’t keep his job if we’re underperforming, he’ll be gone.

Some people seem to think multimillionaire Simon Sadler is an idiot.

There could be a payment clause in his contract or an increasing wage structure which increases his basic salary the longer he's with us
No doubt there's a win bonus, promotion and some KPI's thrown in there
Poor guy could be on peanuts for the first year to prove himself and then the wage starts to grow as the club does.

Dont forget, were run by businessmen who do this shit for a living...…Don't see Ben Mansford coming around AVFTT'ers houses and knocking the hoover out of their hands and telling them how to clean their own house.....These are bright people.....not thick cnuts like us......(no offence....but you get my meaning)

Have the club or rosenier actually said he was offered post or is it just newspaper/gossip because i cant remember it if they have said

I think the club at this point just wants to steady the ship until the east stand and training ground is done.

It's just occurred to me. I bet they drew up a 4 year contract for Rosenior and then had to quickly adapt it for Appleman. Changed the name and main details, but missed the 4 years.

I've seen shit like that happen loads of times. 🤠

The only problem i have with the appointment is the length of the contract
Why? If it goes wrong then SS has to pay him off, thats upto him.

We want continuity, plus protecting our asset.

If he keeps us up on a small budget he'll have achieved his goal, if he does it playing the sort of football Lincoln dis at times but better obviously, being a higher level, he'd be sought after.

Protects us too.

Incase it does go wrong, its not Simon Sadler paying him off its the Club. I think he will keep us up but that’s 1 year 4 is a hell of a long time in football & to be successful 4 years in a trot is exceptionally difficult

Don't think he'll reduce the budget if he had to get rid, didn't with Grayson did it?...

Got to be break clauses in a four year management contract? He wouldn’t get four years salary if he was let go say after 12 months.

The bottom line is Appleton was the cheapest option.

Rather than paying compo for Evatt, Roesenior et al, we will now reinvest the money on a couple of young 'prospects' to appease the fans.

Will be surprised if he lasts longer than 4 months never mind 4 years.

It might work out better then of there's more fo the team..

Seen some presumably derby fans saying you probably wouldn't have done owt with Rosenior anyway.

Appleton got Lincoln playing good football.
