In case you missed it, Oxford could only draw last night conceding a 92nd minute equaliser.
Looking at the last 5 games for the teams 5-8th

5. Oxford 4 Points
6. Posh 1 Point
7. Stevenage 4 Points
8. Blackpool 5 Points

Beggars belief that coming in to the final stage of the season that no teams is averaging more than a point a game!

That said, having seen us last night, am not sure I'd like the inevitable heartbreak of the Play Offs!

Saturday's fixtures .. definite advantage Stevenage are playing Wycombe who play tonight and so might be a few tired legs
Elsewhere, it's an interesting set of fixtures - could throw up some surprises but. of course we need to beat Bolton (staggering we would still be 13 points behind if we did!).

  • Cambridge United12:00Peterborough United
  • Barnsley15:00Derby County
  • Blackpool15:00Bolton Wanderers
  • Charlton Athletic15:00Portsmouth
  • Oxford United15:00Leyton Orient
  • Stevenage15:00Wycombe Wanderers

It would be a waste of time us going up anyway as our squad is poor at the minute so going up would be a huge task especially with this manager. We probably need another year in league one and reset this summer with a squad overhaul and manager change.

Ha ha we are the form team😆

Plus side for us is we haven’t lost in 6 but 5 draws in there is far from ideal…
I'm pretty sure you were 8 points clear with 2 games in hand not that long ago.

Wasn't the phrase 'Mind the gap' used?

😉

Critchley’s let the club down this season and I honestly don’t buy into all this he hasn’t been backed bollox either.he’s continued to play and set the team up in a way that just doesn’t work and it’s just awful on the eye.he just won’t change and for that reason we won’t make the play offs regardless what other teams do.
Honestly I don't see it, I don't think you're better than the teams above you. Genuinely think you're where you should be - we all have biases of course, but how many of your players get into Peterboro, Derby, Pompey, Bolton squads?

You obviously don’t know the talent in our squad, the list is endless we’ve got dembele then ….ok the list has ended

It doesn’t work like that.the majority of our players who helped get us promoted to the Prem wouldn’t have got into the Newcastle West Brom Leicester Forest or Cardiff squads.we have more than enough quality in this squad to be in the play offs don’t you worry about that.

Do the players not have to take any responsibility

Of course they do👍🏻some performances have been awful but all this-well which players would get into this team that team is nonsense.

I think 90% of us have crashed back down to earth and would mostly agree with you, the confusing thing is a few of this squad we witnessed more than hold their own in the championship before Michael Appleton deflated them , so we may overrate based on that.

Norburn was Peterborough’s captain and Bolton were after him, he came to us and has looked useless with our laboured style.

Rhodes was top scorer in the league prior to his injury.

Dembele is as good as anyone I’ve seen this season.

Gabriel, Ekpiteta, Husband, CJ Hamilton and the recently departed Dougall were all involved in a League One promotion season and have performed well in the Championship.

Lavery, Connolly, and Lyons were all signings who have played well in the Championship and look shadows of their former selves.

Dougall’s replacement Byers was instrumental in Wednesday’s promotion.

Joseph was decent at this level for you and is better than Owen Dale who couldn’t get in our team.

Even Virtue was apparently good for Lincoln at this level and he can’t get a sniff at our starting line up.

I’m not going to pretend I know other teams squads inside out or say that ours is better than some of the teams above us, I honestly don’t know. The argument is that the manager isn’t getting enough out of the above talent and we should be performing better than we are because we have a good squad of players and we’ve seen some of them perform well at a higher level.

Very good summary and we are definitely not getting the best out of them thats for sure!

A bit odd given the 2 games against your team, we were the better side. There are plenty of games left and we have a tricky run of fixtures (Bolton, Orient & Portsmouth) but are the sort of team that quite often save our best for such games. For the record you're a decent side but weak up front, I think the.top 6 will be Portsmouth, Derby, Bolton, Peterborough, Barnsley with the other being between ourselves.

Said on another thread that if we beat Bolton tomorrow then does it validate Critch's team selection whilst at the same time wondering if Posh lose was that a poor decision from Ferguson to only make two changes?

Just looking at Posh's stats after 30 mins away at Cheltenham 63% possession but one shot on target to their two.
Problem is this season is those teams in the bottom half are proving a thorn in the side to those in the top half as none are 3 point bankers!
