Last 7 days nearly 850 men arrived illegally by boats - this figure is only for the ones detected so there might have been more🤷🏿‍♂️

There are no safe routes, don't you ask the question why , and is anyone surprised the boats continue? Saying stop the boats is a bit canuteish, anyyway keeps people from focusing on the shambles the rest of this country has become.
And anyone thinking Rwanda policy Will save the Day, that will deal with less 1/2 of the 850 quoted at the start of this thread.
Let them come I say just give them complete free them and it probably won't take them long to realise what a dump this country has become and want to leave again. Think about that car hits yet another pothole in the road 🤯

Agree.

Rwanda policy is a joke and maybe your last point could work.

Give them all a temporary visa to stay/work and let them crack on.

No free housing in any form, no free access to the NHS or education.

Same as if we decided to go and live/work in Dubai.

It’s a drop in the ocean compared to the net immigration into the UK of 3200 a day within Government policy. If you are concerned about immigration, boat crossings are a political distraction that you and others have been duped into thinking is the real issue.

Even at peak times, there may be maybe 20,000 arriving by small boats.

You do know up to 750,000 arrive through other routes, with 300,000 emigrating.

Small boat numbers are a complete deflection dog whistle tactic.

Immigration could be massively reduced through tighter visa controls but too much money is made from the likes of students and short term working contracts.

Easy policy changes but ignored in favour of blaming a tiny proportion of the total immigrant volume. Catchphrase over meaningful difference.

Educated guess
And a fair guess too. I can't recall seeing a female in any of the news coverage & residents on the south coast always refer to 'males' when they're interviewed.
The governments attempts to control our boarders are shambolic.
The whole demographics of the UK is changing for the worse and our infrastructure & services simply cannot cope.
Immigration is costing the UK billions, while we have people sleeping on the streets, foodbanks, crumbling road surfaces, crumbling schools, rising crime & a broken health service.
Labour (our next government) also don't appear to have any ideas to regain control.
The future looks bleak for our children & grandchildren.

It's the principle and also security issues it creates.

But yes legal immigration is a joke too, especially as they promised to get a grip of it, they lied.

Do other European coutries, who these immigrants have passed through, not notice them.
They probably say, 'We're going to England so won't be in your country for long.
'Oh, that's OK then, well take you to the border'.
.'

That’s the problem with this take on what’s going on.

It’s only a fraction of 700,000 so it's fine, doesn’t matter.

Even 800 people is a massive burden on the country but it’s just accepted as no problem.

Surely we have to get it down to an acceptable number that all parties can agree on and get it sorted asap.

Watch this week's Panorama on iPlayer. Stopping the boats is a distraction (surprise surprise). 1.44 million visas in 12 months.

It sure is.

Firstly. get the population frothing about a tiny problem.
Secondly, feed millions to Suella's friends in Rwanda
Thirdly, blame the ECHR for stopping it and withdraw, despite them not beng involved.
Fourthly, continue the stealth introduction of SEZs and Freeports, making removal of your human rights, planning rights and right to unfettered use of your own property. Some will have read about the Teeside corruption, anyone picked up that parts of two national parks have been slipped into SEZ's with no one who is elected aoart from a Minister involved, and the local councils (South Hams)threatened with legal action for querying it? The company running the SEZ can disregard planning authority and can approve compulsory purchase of any property in the SEZ. It can disregard basic employment law, minimum wage, etc.

And you think the problem is those on the boats?? 😂 😂

It isn’t a distraction to most people.
Everybody knows legal migration is out of control.

This country really is a bit of a sh1te hole nowadays.
We have a overcrowded, dirty and totally inefficient nation with many angry, ignorant, unhealthy residents.
Apart from the obvious money and free health and education there is little to attract anyone to this dump when comparing to many European countries, this is why we are struggling to fill skilled jobs and why we are getting all the dossers racking up on our shores from around the world.

Rwanda have said they'll take 200 for the money we've given them so far.

It would be an awful lot cheaper to keep them here.

My son and daughter have worked self-employed in Dubai for 8 years.
They get the opportunity to make a living in Dubai, however If they can’t make a wage then it’s go home.
No free housing, no free medical care, no childcare, zero.
Medical insurance for my son, £8,000.
Rent £20,000 a year.

A lot will work for Care homes and NHS, and after a recent stay in hospital, I think the majority work hard and contribute.

That's not the point, it was a manifesto pledge which was not only a complete lie, but hone totally the other way.

Shock, horror politicians not being truthful. All parties have let the country down, it is not just a Tory trait.
They plan for 5year only, most infrastructure and critical services the time frame is far longer, so we end up with Victoria sewers not being able to cope. Wind farms not added to national grid, flood defenses. Inadequate etc and NHS grinding to a halt due mainly to bed blocking as our population ages.

They've been in power a long time now and no improvement, it's only got far bigger the number.
