A massive slap in the face of the haters

Just out of interest I didn't hear it but were there any boos from QPR?
You would hope not because much like our lads on Saturday their team put a shift in.
Well done to Appleton the team and the fans that went down there, only downside Fiorini and Patino, hope they aren't as bad as they looked.

Brilliant effort from front to back. Shame about the two knocks. Patino showed real guts to last the half; looked painful. Guessing Fiorini went off with a bit of a thigh strain as a precaution. Yates and Lavery tireless, just in need of a goal. Bowler's gem desrved match winner.
Well done all round.

We have won and ur trying to stir stuff up enjoy the win fuck wot anyone else thinks πŸ™„
Don't think its quite that simple. You win some you lose some that's football but as long as the team are giving it everything you don't turn on them.
I think many people want to nip that sort of weakness in the bud. Hopefully its been done and we can now move on.

Defensively, we look bloody good! Miles better than last season. A bit of work to do up front….. but a great result and nice to see us grinding one out πŸ‘

I have to admit I was very doubtful after the Stoke and Swansea games but massive credit to Appleton today. Patino linked up with Bowler really well and we put together some nice attacks in the first half, and we defended masterfully in the second half. Really solid and pragmatic performance.

That was a great all round team performance tonight as good as anything we saw last season under Critchley. Surely now is the time for all supporters to put their predudices towards Appleton aside and get behind him, the team and Simon Sadler . We could have another super season, we have a talented group and with a couple of additions we could surprise a few people again.

I have never booed in my life
However I did criticize the manager's tactics for the Swansea match
I M O the performance and the tactics last night vindicated that criticism
Last night will have given the team a huge confidence boost
The perfect preparation for Saturday

I don’t mind booing but I just can't seem to get the timing right.

Did it before the game started and people coming up the stairs were thinking it was for them.

Tried again later when having a slash but only got funny looks.

I'm a tad confused, am I a hater because I criticised Bowlers performance on Saturday? I don't boo the team and was pro Appleton when he was reappointed πŸ˜–
Said on Saturday that I didn't think that the players knew what Appleton was asking of them. Last night you could see green shoots. I'm not going over the top over last nights performance but thought it was miles better than the last two matchesπŸ‘πŸ»
The thing that made the victory a little bitter were the injuries to Fiorini and Patino.
Fiorini imo had his best game since signing and Patino, wow a very very good player.
Hopefully both will recover quickly.
An unexpected but very welcome victory with confidence returning just In time for a difficult derby this weekend πŸ‘πŸ»

Don't think many people have a problem with a bit of constructive criticism.
I think it becomes a problem when a number of people boo just because we aren't winning, happened against Barrow and Swansea, I don't think it was justified on either occasion.
Calling out individual players in a flem spattering rage isn't great either, I prefer to give them the silent treatment, they get the message and you keep your dignity.

They will just wait for the next loss and chirp up then the thick agenda driven twats.
Who's prodding you JJ? We all get frustrated when things don't go well but I think we're all on the same page, ultimately. I only ask cos you're usually a considered poster.

My thoughts after Appleton's first 5 competitive games in charge.

Reading - a good first 30 but sat too deep and didn't control the game as much as I'd like - 7/10

Stoke - pretty poor through out, rarely threatened and the team lacked intensity - 4/10

Barrow - dominant through out but didn't pick up the pace until the 2nd half - 5/10

Swansea - the low press was not easy to watch but we were much better in the 2nd half and should've won - 6/10

QPR - defended well, Grimshaw saving well when called on and looked a threat on the break all night, as away performances go, it was textbook - 8/10

That's an average performance of 6/10, but what is more important, it seems the players are getting better at playing in a 433. We do need to tidy up some of our passing and our final ball/finish needs to improve. When you consider he hasn't been able to get all the players he needs yet, I would say it has been a decent start, certainly nothing to boo or get despondent about.

I agree with you about tidying up the passing. Most of the problems QPR caused us were through losing possession far too cheaply through a poor pass, allowing them to catch us going the wrong way. I always applaud the intent of the pass, but when it happens time and time again that it fails to reach the intended target, it becomes tiresome.

It was more with the Facebook people in mind really, if you saw some of the instant judgements and calling for his head etc. It was the made their mind up already crowd who would wait for the next defeat and jump on him.

Hopefully last night put a stop to it and people got a grip.

Don't do Twitface, never have. Stick with us old (what was it), twats on here and you'll know we're only an Ovaltine away from being reasonable.

Latest news.Appleton has said the fans can't wait for progress and weekly training sessions to take effect and is in negotiation with fairies at the bottom of his garden to purchase a magic wand. More to follow.
