See Pool have drawn Barrow and Morecombe in a "pre-determined" group for the EFL Cup so only need to find out which kids team is also in the group live on Sky tomorrow !!!
Who decides these things.
Be interesting to see which gets the better gates the friendlies or the friendlies-I mean cup matches.....

Is it a geographical thing to keep costs down and maintain some kind of interest? If that’s the case I presume Fleetwood have drawn Accy and Wigan maybe….or Carlisle and Stockport?

The thinking is that they try to reduce travel times for all. The EFL have done it for a long time for this competition. It's quite revealing of their mind set, in some ways.

Yep, Barrow is a right palaver to get to considering it looks like you could walk it from Fleetwood.
Am I right in thinking this is the Autowindscreens/LDV/Johnstones Paints/Papa John's, or have they made the early stages of the League Cup a group?

It's actually the EFL Trophy as mentioned above which was drawn this morning.

EFL Trophy

The EFL Cup is the renamed League Cup (AKA Carabao Cup) which is being drawn tomorrow afternoon (We're ball 5)

This group is for the EFL Trophy, the autoglass/ LDV/ Johnson Paints trophy we won a couple of times in the early 2000s.

The Carabao Cup is the EFL Cup or Milk/ Rumbelows / Littlewoods/ Coco Cola/ Carling cup and the draw for the first round of that is also tomorrow.

You'd have thought Barrow ,carlisle , morecambe , would be in same group. ,then Fleetwood ,Blackpool , Bolton. Looks like bods at efl didn't do geography at school

Actually 8 teams from the National League did play in the EFL Cup between 2000/2006. Personally I would rather that than U21 teams.
I guess however that with some Premier League teams pressing the EFL for their "B/U21" teams to play in the EFL (Like Celtic and Rangers in Scotland) this is the EFLs attempt to stop that happening but it will eventually as money talks.
