Well said Tim.

After 10 mins, I said we are competitive regardless of how the game finishes. We are looking more established, and it’s time we had more confidence and stopped panicking about the squad.

Listening to Radio Lancs driving bsck, every club is saying they need 4 or 5 signings this week. I would like a couple but wouldn’t panic if we don’t
 
Sorry dont agree,lf tenacity,character and team spirit got you points we would be top of the table come May. I'm not by any means saying we are relegation fodder but there is a lot of spit and glue with masses of effort required to get us through most Championship games. Clubs dont spend the millions they do on transfer fees and wages compared to us for there not to be a difference, doesn't stop me being mighty proud of our lads though.
 
I've been critical of the Madman, but he was good today. And the talk of sending The Wasp and The Wine Lodge out to Barrow reserves to get 'game time' was ludicrous. The Cook looks like he's a find as well.

Madine should've scored before Jerry did. I just don't see what others do with the goal machine.
 
Good o/p, which I mostly agree with.
We're certainly competitive in every game, but I feel we get over run in midfield in most games , certainly in the first halves. When we start winning the midfield battles on a regular basis, that's when I will feel like we're a " proper championship level side". At the moment I still feel like we're punching above our weight a little. I think this will improve when Patino and Fiorini return. Today Bristol seemed to get the run of the ball (including the 2nd goal), they were first to every loose ball.

As for Madine, his control taking the ball down out of the air, and the assist for Joshs goal was excellent. I wouldn't start him as a rule, as I think Theo offers more, especially in terms of mobility (see our 3rd). Gaz is a great player to come off the bench for us imo.

Thought it was certainly entertaining but some good some bad, mainly the defending. They were in far too easily first half and players like statues. 2nd half really poor goals conceded to not push on from 2-1.

But great character to get back into it.

Mixed emotions but relieved, more to come from this team and we need a few more signings.

Madine's superb control of a difficult ball in and lay off to Bowler made the first goal. He led the line excellently in the first half until he got crocked after about 35 mins. Struggled on till he was replaced.

Strange, I thought that was Gaz at his very best today, we looked dangerous across the front. His control and lay off for the first was very good. He’s a huge asset to us, used properly, not as a lone striker.

Theo is a very different player.

You didn’t see the first goal then?

Madine at his best. Murdered their centre backs first half. Held the ball up well and constantly fed Jerry and Bowler. It’s not all about step overs and 50 yard passes. The dirty part of the game is just as important as the flair parts
 
If We could sort out whatever the problem is in front of goal not only would we be a competitive championship side but a top of the league kicking ass championship side.

Madine had a good game... link up play a few times was brilliant... there defenders didnt wanna know till he started to tire..

Tom Folding makes a very valid point here. We need 2 or 3 years in this league whilst stabilising all other aspects of the club. So far so good.

Shame about some of the finishing, 2nd half had a great chance and I think it hit the defender.

Too many of our shots do, it's frustrating.

I really like him and value what he does bring but not enough goals really is it.
