A really frustrating game

It's difficult to take losing against a team that offered very little to a scruffy, deflected goal. By the same measure, we didn't do enough to win it.

It was obvious that once Kouassi ran out of gas, the game played more and more to their liking. We couldn't keep it up top and there was huge gap in midfield that allowed them to mop up all the second balls. We failed to fill that gap and it brought a scrappy game with the ball never on the ground so we could play.

Nobody can criticise the effort or commitment of the players. But we do lack some elements that would make us better. We're too nice. We're not remotely schooled or willing to get involved in the dark arts and I still don't think anyone can truly say what our 'style' really is.

I wouldn't want to watch Stevenage all season, but you could never say any of the above about them.
