A sign that Marv is off?

At the start of the season horribly out of form, not worth his place and a bit of a liability with the ball at his feet, but recently I think he's been pretty collosal and looks like the player he is. Points have been won recently due to Marvs good form IMO. Big loss if he leaves, but Casey is a good player and somehow, centre backs always seem easier to replace than most positions.

We will miss Marv in my opinion. His pace and height both make us much better at the back, much better able to deal with both quick and tall strikers.

Yep, agree 100%.

We already know how good in the air and how pacy he is, a very good defender.

We also already know how poor he can be on the ball/passing, so why have his team mates been giving him the ball every game?
 
We were all worried when Curtis Tilt left. Then we got Marv, and if he goes we will sign someone else. Tbh I think we need a lcb, we've got Pennington and Casey, so rcb is covered
 
He's a good player, who when selected has given everything for the team.
OK he's not been good with the ball at his feet, but that's for the coaches to sort out, both in terms of him as an individual and how they're asking the back 3 to play.
He'd be a big loss, but no defender is irreplaceable.
Under a new coach, in a different setup, big Marv will become an even better player.
 
Big fan of Marv, had a difficult start to the season but has been really good for us recently, would be disappointed to see him go.

What's the deal with him? Fully out of contract at the end of the season or do we have the option of another year?

Interesting comments. I doubt he'd be in cship demand if he's been scouted this season, which perversely works in our favour.

Played in the right system and in the right way ie play to his strengths not his weaknesses and he's a very, very decent defender.....then he'd be a target.

imo he's been made to look a bit stupid.
 
Marv is brilliant as a defender. Fast, good in the air, great at blocks, last ditch tackles, headers etc. Marv is shit bringing the ball out from the back and passing it. So what has Critch done for most of the season? Played him as a ball playing centre back in a three. Idiocy of the highest order.
 
Would be insane to let him go. Yes he wobbled the last couple of season but look at his journey to this point. He’s climbed the leagues quickly and a bit of a setback is inevitable at some point. He seems to be over it now.

Fans are way too quick to pass judgement, he’s potentially one of our best players ever
 
Hes been a good defender for us but if we are to play the way we did for the 60mins v Barnsley every player has to handle the ball under pressure. Time moves on new opportunities will come along for new players .
 
For me Marv is the best defender in league one. When he leaves he’ll either go to a championship club or a league one club with deeper pockets than ourselves. Having said that, it will be interesting how high Charlie Hughes at Wigan goes as he impressed me no end.

Wouldn't go that far, but I've been watching us a long time
