“If Blackpool are willing to be patient, MApp will be a good fit for them. He’s a builder of things and not a quick fixer. If he can continue what Critchley set up, he’ll do a good job.”

He doesn't look or sound like your idea of a top manager. We shouldn't judge a book by its cover. But we do though, don't we though?!

He's had a sort of scrappy management journey but he's learnt stuff, it seems, and done well in his last two posts, in leagues one and two. Can he step up to the Championship, that's the question. I think.

Ekpiteta stepped up. 👍

We must also take into account, the fact that he is inheriting a much stronger squad than the Imps, a bigger player budget, good coaches from academy upwards (if they all stay), fantastic supporters (now we're all behind him) and he's returned home to the NW with his family and friends, where he'll be more content.
In summary, we should see the very best of Michael Appleton UTMP

Critchley built up plenty of credit with that first season. Few defeats, everyone was still behind him.
The problem with MA is he is already starting on the back foot.

Except not one single person hopes he gets sacked
I think there's one or 2 weirdos who seem to hate him for no real reason. But I hope he gets us playing well and they feel utterly embarrassed. See my pic posted on 'one things for certain' thread, post 24, was just after the announcement so people will have got over the shock now but, shocking statement.

Their comments are like me making a nice piece of toast and telling Paul Hollywood that I'm a top baker. No connection whatsoever.

It was kneejerk, I was a bit guilty of it, I watched Lee's video and was impressed with what Jake had to say, even more impressed that he used his lunch break to appear on the stream 👍

No there's having a grumble and moan, then there's not renewing or threatening to, which is absolutely pathetic. But to to suggest true bfc fans won't back him and that only mushrooms will be attending, trying to cause some sort of fan split, was just really low and pathetic.

Very small minority, it's the Twitter way, shouting in to the void.

I've never known a single person cancel a ST because of who the manager is, I know we're a bunch of hopeless addicts on here but still...

Some of them may have been look at me types, well we did look and we saw some absolute bell ends.

If anyone didn't renew and we went on to do well it would be funny to watch them go back on their word and have to pay more and make out they always liked him.

"I'll be amazed if Blackpool make impact of the Championship next season and staying up will be their only objective. Appleton likes his teams to play football, and I think he'll struggle to really put his stamp on things in a relegation battle."

There's no reason why we should be in a relegation battle. Funny how fans of some other clubs struggle to come to terms with the fact that we were a comfortable mid-table side last season.

Fans of other clubs assume that it was all down to Critchley. Next season we'll get to find out if they're right. Critchley did a great job imo, but I also think we have some good championship quality players so it'll be interesting to see how it turns out.

Except they are all Queuing up to leave !

Joke appointment

Lincoln are the most level headed supporters I have ever come across.
Even after we beat them in the play offs they didn’t look too despondent and all congratulated us.
Level headed or realistic? Good League One side .. we're a good Championship side .. sadly some on here think we should be challenging for a European place in the Premier League 🙄
