Affroman & Raggy vs the Oystains

I’ll watch this later thanks Kegler 👍, busy watching Old Firm atm

just mentioned it to my youngest lad though who is now fully absorbed in it

Watched it through.

What an uplifting watch that is (other than the sorrow around Raggy's son).

The community organising principles which were used were text book Alinsky; getting them tied up in bureaucracy worked a treat and gave those who weren't directly involved so much fun.

I'm pleased to see that both of them continue to receive a bit of support from behind the scenes.

Truly heroic efforts by the both of you.

As a footnote; delighted for Welsh Phil to get his moment of glory and his contribution recognised 👍

Fantastic story brilliantly told. Get these lads season tickets for life! Really sorry to hear about your wife and son though Afroman. Heroic effort.

Started to watch this one hour and 27 minutes ago thinking I’ll do maybe half hour then come back to it later tonight or tomorrow, well I never bailed out as it captivated me, Raggy and Afroman I applaud you 👏🏻🍊

Legends the pair of them 😂😂 When the scum originally went for Raggy with papers similar to the ones I got we had a meeting at my house with my solicitor who had been contacted by a local, wealthy businessman. He had offered to pay all the legal bills upto £10,000 if they took their very public fight down a couple of levels but “did things the right way”. Raggy’s answer was no chance, thanks for the offer but we prefer the mayhem we’re going to bring….not sure my solicitor could believe what the pair of them were like but he left my house with a big smile on his face 😀😀

Don’t know either of them but know what they did to get our club back, had a little smile to myself watching on tv yesterday when I saw Afroman sat in the North.

Got a bit lost with the timeline here - were the O's suing them for standing outside the EFL or Bloomfield Road protesting?

Great interview. After watching this and reading the book, if you didn’t live it you really wouldn’t believe it. It really is sensational looking back.

Incredible stories, true heroes who kept the stains embroiled in court action which helped keep their eye off the ball for the bigger battles to come which thankfully they lost.

A big part of a massive collective effort so pleased it all helped toward getting us to where we are now.

There’s a film there Lee if you fancy branching out 😎

When I see ,through this video, more of the true story behind their and others actions it makes me realise how much they deserve our thanks for been part of the catalyst for ridding us of the Oystons.
We now have a Football Club that we can be proud of again and more importantly be part of and happy to be associated with which these two certainly worked hard for along with others.

Just reading the book, and watched that from the two.Never met the lads but will buy them a drink and give them a envelope with what i can give. Good job we have people, working class and any other people of economic levels who are willing to put their futures and lives on the line, for all of us , football and any other wrongs included. Raggy and Afroman HATS OFF

Just finished it..** brilliant..love Raggy and the Afroman ❤ And proud to know em ..big Bollocks the pair of em to crack on throughout that despite suffering threats, , bankruptcy, mental health problems, some Blackpool fans slating them and so on

👍
Indeed and very brave men the pair of them. I wasn't aware that Raggy was so articulate and he's quite a well balanced guy too, taking that all in his stride and not allowing himself to be affected by it.
Great viewing, great stories and they'll talk about this for generations to come, where the fans really did win against all the odds and triumphed over appalling adversity

When you look at how little effect supporters have had in reclaiming the game back, you have to wonder if these two would be better off ruining the show and giving it the balls it needs to get that change.

I was lucky enough to be at a bst Xmas do where owain oyster appeared followed by raggys "oh tower of Blackpool " song tears of laughter and then just tears much respect and good voice too

I witnessed the road shows on quite a few occasions & they definitely gave a cutting & humorous edge to proceedings. I've nothing but admiration for what this pair did & whilst I was enraged by the bully boy tactics of the Oystons my own approach stayed on the legal side, along with many others, not that I believe they really broke any laws, but did leave themselves open to some aspects of the law that favoured those with money. My mate thought they had become consumed with the fight against tyranny & he was probably right in that. But it shows what an ass the law can be & how it has always favoured the rich & establishment figures, these two seemed to tear up the rulebooks & I must admit I wasn't aware of all they went through. I think many of us would have liked to have done more during the protest years, but felt they had too much to lose. Anyway that's now history thankfully. That video was a great watch & the fact the Oystons really hated them speaks volumes, a taste of their own medicine & all self inflicted.

If somebody had told me I’d watch a 90 minute video in one hit made by Raggy & Afro I’d have said they were bonkers. A very enjoyable and informative watch despite already knowing a lot of it. A very poignant point made by Raggy is the amount of fans who have got know each other because of the protests. I’ve got to know Raggy, Sharpie and lots more and become good friends with Tony & Christine Green also, where perhaps under happier times I wouldn’t have . Nice little mention at the end also, thanks Raggy 😉🍺🍺🍺

Was going to have an early night but that was compelling stuff. And very nicely put together.

Funny and very articulate, I don’t know either of the lads apart from the roadshow stuff, the various court episodes during the protests and from stuff posted online. What it drives home, and which Raggy particularly manages to convey very well, is the reason it all worked was the variety of protests and people involved, and how disorienting that must have been for the Odious ones.

So fair play to Raggy and Afro, some great stories and no small amount of sacrifice that I have a lot of respect for.

It all got a little silly and it seemed the Oyston's didn't do much stop things.

Some may be critical of Raggy but I'm sure there are plenty worse folk and I hope he has managed to put it all behind him and move on with his life.

I wish him and Afro all the best.

Fair play to both of them, I take my hat off and salute you guys.

I had no idea how much you did behind the scenes.

Thankyou 🧡

Raggy is very impressive with his honesty and reasonable nature looking back at what they did well, what others may not like, why they did it anyway etc. Someone who is so entrenched in a battle for a few years usually comes out with a warped view of what was happening, but he's kept pretty sensible and telling the same versions of the story. He has some claims which will remain claims because nobody can possibly prove it, most of those made the book, others couldn't, and I'm very glad he and Afro had the opportunity to just sit and talk for 90 minutes. This is absolutely the best medium for them and it was great.

In the video it says you didn't approach the Afro (or did I miss hear that?).

If not, what was the reasoning behind that?

I probably should have done but the part I focused on was Raggy so I interviewed him. I didn't touch upon Karl's case against Afro as it didn't really have anything to do with the club in isolation. I think that would have been a long tangent which the book didn't have space for, albeit a good one. For completeness I probably should have interviewed him, but listening to the video I'm satisfied that Raggy told me pretty much everything anyway and I don't suspect it would have changed the book at all.
