Afghanistan - last troops scram from Bagram

As always our lions are led by lambs
The guys and girls on the ground have no say
They just do their job rightly or wrongly is a matter for another day
This troop bashing is getting old quickly
I have never served but would not dream to criticize anyone unless I had walked a mile in their boots
And to say they are scramming is a downright insult to the one ones who are not coming home

Good luck to the Afghan security forces now a resurgent jihadist Talaban is spreading across that land. Looks like the next cycle of civil war is about to begin and we will watch on from afar until the effects start to hit the West.

Allegedly, the Bush-Cheney-Rumsfeld doctrine over invading Afghanistan and Iraq following the 9/11 New York atrocity was to create jihadi-rich battlegrounds in the Middle East which would attract wannabee terrorists from all around the world where they could be eradicated by overwhelming US military firepower. So as to draw them away from further attacks on US soil, like wasps to a jam pot. An incredibly cynical action in destroying these countries, if true. And instrumental in creating the evil murderous ISIL/Daesh in the Syrian borderlands.

Pathetic O/P as usual.

A total disrespect for those injured/killed in this campaign.
It isn't a thing for anyone to gloat about, but we really do have to hold to account politicians who send our armed forces to countries where we have no business to be.
Happens all the time, might happen less if politicians or their families had to do six months out there!!

Oh …. Did we lose then 🤔

454 British military personnel killed in 20 years

47,000 Afghan Civilians killed
70,000 Afghan troops killed

what the fuck were we doing there

Whatever it was it didn’t work., although for a good period of time girls got to go to school again and be treated almost with respect and dignity.
I have no idea whatsoever how to solve the issues within that country but the Taliban trying to take it back to the Middle Ages isn’t good.

Could an Arab coalition step in? Would an Arab coalition want gender equality and opportunities for all? Even religious tolerance?

Could the Taliban accept a world where they ruled under Sharia law but allowed those that didn’t want that to leave easily without persecution to another part of Afghanistan - or is their view “all or nothing”?

The Taliban will win the war, then watch out for the reaction.

Watched the film official secrets on Netflix recently, a true story about the whistleblower who released a document showing that Bush and Blair intended to bully and blackmail minor countries to support their plan for a U.N. resolution to invade Iraq. Compelling viewing which brought back everything that happened, the lies about weapons of mass destruction and the cover up.
