I see now that the media are asking for donations to help the children of Afghanistan . Well I for one are thinking that the money would not reach any children ,because the Taliban will just take it, but even if it did surely these children will grow up to hate the west and will most likely join the Taliban . Have we really lost the plot that much that we rather give money to help the Taliban fighters or instead have a look at our own charities in this country . There are plenty of them that are struggling.

I suspect that the biggest issue the Taliban face in years to come (outside of actual survival of famine and deprivation) is that the people have tasted freedom.

Although that freedom was not a version we recognise as our freedom here, they’ve had a decade or more where children went to school, women have careers and tolerance improved.

The Taliban will struggle to keep the populace happy with a gun and sharia law regardless.

You should watch the sky news report from a few days ago, it is very upsetting.

I can't believe I've just read that drivel.
it happens more than people think big charities such as oxfam etc try to cover this up or just refuse to comment when asked as it effects their donations

Nothing racist regarding my comment about eastern europeans, austrailians and taliban afganistan obtaining benefit from our country. Get a grip you soft arse mod or avftt admin.

Why do people have to make charity donations to one or the other? Why do you think you can't give to both?

Also, how do you know "your own charities in this country" will receive your donation and it won't just go in the pocket of its Chief Executive on £160,000 a year?

That's why I rarely give to charities.
