I consider this a football post than o/t but how on earth can Alan Shearer be the BBC’s 3rd highest paid star? He doesn’t do MOTD every week during the season and so I reckon that works out about £15k every time he appears on the screen. I usually fast forward through the punditry bit if I’m honest

He’s a NI radio presenter and also does a weekly tv show on BBC. Think he also does shows on BBC Radio 5 Live.

Everyone should have a little bit of Lauren in their life.

I met her years ago when she fronted up Kenickie and we’ve been in love ever since. Although it’s always been a bit one-sided.

Couple of comments:

How come Claudia Winklemann isn’t on the list? She has earned over 500K in the past and I can’t believe she earns less than that now

And absolutely agree with the comments on Shearer. He doesn’t provide any unique level of insight that another pundit couldn’t provide.

To put things in perspective 450K is about the same salary as a mediocre Championship player. A lot of these presenters are freelance these days so are not tied to the BBC. BBC are probably not the biggest payers when compared to SKY and US sports presenters.

ER because the wages are well out of date.
So how much is Shearer on now can easily be found out.

Those figures are for 2022/23 so not out of date at all. That is unless you have the figures for 2023/24 available, in which case could you please give me next weeks winning lottery numbers.

Despite balking at how much they earn, have to say that the MOTD which Lineker was suspended for was shite. I like pundits comments - the one who gets me is Micah Richards - false laugh, no idea and hugely irritating (even worse when he's with that buffoon Carragher!).
