All these new signings and for me

Turton is a steady full back for this level and becomes a scape goat sometimes. He’s been one of the better ones this season but some people won’t like to admit it. There’s not many Trent or Andy Robertson’s about at this level so not sure what people expect !

We’re only 6 games in so I think it’s best waiting until Xmas to make comparisons to last seasons squad. The reality is we was in a much better position this time last year than we are now.

So last seasons squad releases

Gnanduillet didnt want to stay anyway and hasnt exactly been on fire since he left...probably playing lower standard now

Edwards struggled to get in at Dundee Utd but is at least getting a game now

Feeney not pulling up any trees at Tranmere

Spearing also struggling in a lower division

Macdonald Cannot even get in at a lower division club

Fonz yet another at a struggling lower division club

Scannell at Grimsby again struggling in a lower division

Clubs werent exactly fighting to take these on and only Edwards is at a team of comparable level

Much ado about nothin
The bid fella would have stayed but Critch didn't want him

Oh and he's probably playing a higher standard now

The rest except for Fonz

Yeah can see that

We still have conflicting ITK views on Gnanduillet.
Fonz has frustrated forever with his inconsistency. Lovely lad but no great loss.

What happened when we didn't play Turton at right back tho?

We got beat 4-1 and the right back who wasn't Turton was culpable for 3 of them.
His first ever game for us? Pretty sure Turton played right centre back in there. So you can't say he wasn't at fault for none of it. He could communicate and tell Gabriel to sit back a bit more.

Second actually, he played in the LDV.

I'm amazed Turton is also at fault for the other players errors. Perhaps he could tell Jerry to run to the near post sometimes as well?

I'd also ask where he was on the 22nd November 1963, and whether he was stood on a grassy knoll in texas.

Gabriel was at fault for two of the goals and Turton one in that game... Gabriel was also up against probably the best player in that position in the division

Never said he was. I'm just saying he's absolutely dogshit. And so far, haven't actually had anyone tell me otherwise?

Let's be fair he could have closed down better but to.blame him for that goal is a bit of a push. Anderson lost the ball in a dangerous position. I think if I was pointing fingers then it would be more at Anderson.

But Turton could have done better.

Fonz is now playing one division lower. I’d be stunned if he reached double figures there, yet Yates was prolific last season as was Hardie

The Fonz’s wiki page did he really score that many goals for us? Or has he enhanced it prior to the Bolton move? Nothing against the Fonz btw good servant to this club but it was time to move on.

The money it would of took would of eaten too much with Nuttall and Madine taking 4/500k between them and then the question of was he worth that much
Can't imagine Yates in on the basic as he was signed before salary cap was brought in.

I don't think it's an unreasonable position to think that we might have started the season better with a more evolutionary approach.

Whether that would yield long term success is a different matter. We'll never know and we're on the journey we're on now. Time will tell.

Would it have bought time for some slightly more measured recruitment? Possibly.

As for Armand (my favourite subject), we miss him every minute of every game. He played 55 minutes under Critchley and he seemed to cope with it fine to me but the consensus was he's just a big lump.

As I understand it, his replacement (presumably signed precisely because he's the kind of pure football player Armand isn't and can thus cope with playing Critchball) has 0 goals, 0 assists.

Armand currently has made 5 sub appearances and scored 2 goals for Altay.

Armand under Critch made 2 sub appearances and provided 1 assist.

In conclusion, Armand Gnanduillet: football genius.
Football genius who's had one decent and one good season in his entire career, give me a break 😩

I personally have no problem with letting any of the players who have departed go. However not convinced by the replacements (yet as it’s still early) especially Lubala so far.
