His dad has passed away after a long illness, explains his recent absence and possibly why he's not played as much recently even when available?
RIP.
RIP.
Sad time for him and his family.Andy's just a young lad too. RIP
Very true. Also at the other end of the spectrum Callum Con looked a bit leggy on Saturday, no doubt due to his new nipper disturbing his beauty sleep.Always things going on in players personal lives that we as fans don’t appreciate..very sad..
Quite so ...and more reason why people should take a breath before they post on Fakebook / Scrotal Media etc ..Bless him. So young to lose his father.
Funny walking upto the ground everyone was blaming Critchley for not picking him and why was Pennington in there and CJ at wing back. Never crossed anyone’s mind that this sort of tragedy was in his life.
Great postBless Andy, thoughts are with you.
I remember an interview with Billy Ayre once. I'm paraphrasing because it was a long time ago, but he was talking about things supporters don't see or take into account in a player's performance. We just see the teamsheet, and whether we agree with it or not we hope, nay expect, that they will all perform to their maximum every time.
Bill's point was even on the day things can happen that affect them, they're only human. Kids playing up, maybe had a ruck with the wife before they left, bad traffic, even just generally feel a bit under par that day. We expect as professionals that none of that would affect a game performance, but however much they try there has to be games where it would make a difference.
I've always tried to keep that in mind since I heard him say it. Granted, depending on the game or what's happened it's sometimes harder to keep an objective opinion about it all, but I try all the same.
This for me tooSo sad, RIP.
Stay strong Andy, do your Dad proud
