Andy Lyons position

Andy Lyons played mainly as a wing back for Rovers this season, more so than a fullback. He was really good there too. I've watched quite a few Rovers matches in 2022 on and he had some great games, in Europe too, as a wing back. He's quick, he's got good vision, he gets stuck in, and he can defend. He was one of the best players in the LOI in 2022 and the Rovers fans are sad to lose him. I know the LOI isn't the level of the Championship, but he made a great reputation for himself in 2022 after just one season at Rovers (he only signed for them in Jan '22, from Bohemians). Limerick may well have some comment on this too.

Anyway, what's my point? Everyone has been saying put Connolly in midfield and play Lyons at full back. I'd say the two of them could just switch and swap. It could work well for us.

If Lyons can play wing back then he can play full back so he can fit in if we play a back 3 or a back 4.
Ideal world Connolly is on the bench but he also offers versatility and could play on the right of a back 3. I don't really want to see us choose to lineup with Connolly in midfield.
