Understand Blackpool have lodged a second bid of £200k for Shamrock Rovers full back Andy Lyons. First bid of £100k rejected with informal discussions over an acceptable value having taken place. He’s out in Bulgaria ahead of Rovers’ UCL qualifier vs Ludogorets on Tuesday.

In the article Sean says that we have almost agreed personal terms with Lyons and with Shamrock and ourselves having held informal discussions over the fee I have a feeling 200k will be accepted.

I was watching some highlights of him the other night looks decent.Reads things well in order to dispossess then wants to get forwards.Happy to drive at a defender and has surprisingly good range of passing and vision for a full back.Saw a few long diagonals from his position into space for the forwards running onto.I liked the look of him but then again this montages often look good on YT

Have to say having Dujon here last year has altered my thinking on FB.

With a fit Jordan we were blessed at RB last year, and it was sad one of them had to miss out. Then, through circumstances, Dujon ended up covering lb and it worked.

And a clue I think about MAs design. Two very advanced fullbacks when in possession, and to me Dujon proved that if you're good enough you can play in either slot.

So maybe the Shamrock lad can go lb and we have two very attacking FB options.

Dujon played better at LB and he’s a very good RB!

Love how easy people spend other peoples money, £100k like it’s nothing!
Same people who try and get discount on anything they buy with their own money no doubt 😕
As someone has already pointed out, leave the negotiating to people who understand the market, if they walk away from the deal it’s because it’s not value for Blackpool

McGinlay reporting that 200k should be enough to get Shamrock Rovers to accept while Scrafton reporting that it'll take at least 500k.

think anywhere from 200k to 350k would be great business.

The fees are generally low for League of Ireland players coming to the EFL, I think Sean is right re the 200k mark, 500k seems excessive for someone who has never played outside of Ireland. Also you would imagine that if Shamrock have allowed him to speak with us and agree personal terms the fee must be pretty much sorted? Sean reported informal discussions have been going on re the fee and then we bid 200k so you would imagine that’s what they are asking or thereabouts

I read that he can play left or right back and most of his goals and assists came from the left.

No I'm not.
And what you suggested in your first sentence was stupid or a poor attempt at sarcasm 😉

What you suggested was that the club shouldn't try to negotiate the transfer fee and instead pay whatever was asked for, that's an idiotic way of doing business and deserves the response I gave it.
