Andy Rourke RIP

No age to die , very sad. His contribution to The Smiths sound was a big one, and I've enjoyed those tunes for years. My 15 year old daughter got a record player for Christmas and bought The Smiths first album without any prompting.

The Smiths rekindled my absolute love of music. After punk ended or became more about noise, all there seemed to be were bands whose members were wearing £2000 suits, singing songs about shagging models, waving pound notes whilst stood on a ** yacht.
When I heard Hand in Glove, that was it. I was back in the music game so to speak. Saw them loads. Followed them around a bit. At the time the Smiths seemed and sounded much more real than the Thatcherite greed is good shite. Rip Andy Rourke.
