Announcing L1 Play Off dates

How long does it take for EFL to arrange dates for Play Offs? Surely it’s not that difficult giving they must’ve discussed when deciding how to finish the league.

Presumably they’ll want to do them all over the same 3 days at Wembley which means they’ll have to wait for the Championship to finish?

Why Wembley? It will be behind closed doors, so why not a neutral ground between whoever is in the final

They’ve already announced the semifinal dates for L2 with the final at Wembley on 29th June so I would expect L1 to be similar.

I know they have announced L2 dates so why has it taken 3 days so far to announce nothing. Normally the POs are over a weekend but Championship ain’t decided by 29th June so that’s not in equation.
To pick up on playing at Wembley, how soulless will that be. It’s behind closed doors why not use a more compact stadium.

It is very strange. I suspect the fact that League 1 voted to end the season a few weeks ago has given them a bit more time to plan for the playoffs. It does seem a bit of a rush however seeing as the first leg playoffs are next week. I can’t see them sorting the L1 playoffs in the same timescales so I agree playing one game over a weekend at Wembley without a crowd seems daft.
With the Championship not finishing until late July Then the Playoff final for them can’t be until the middle of August. That seems much too long for the L2 to wait so it looks like there will be 3 different Wembley playoff weekends.
For the Championship playoff final, maybe they are hoping that some sort of socially distanced crowd will be possible by the middle of August.

Hate to say this but I fear if Fleetwood manage to get to Wembley it will be to their advantage, as they are used to playing with no crowds.

Two weeks to get ready for a semi final seems a short period although I get the feeling when we've been hearing about 4 clubs that have been tested for Covid, it must be those who are involved and presumably they went back to training when they got whiff of an end to the season?
