If they stopped transmission or even had any meaningful effect on it they would have been far more merit to taking them.
I had 2 then sacked the booster off, people tend to get ill still anyway.
Can see the merit for those older if they want to but some of the overreaction from covid has proven very damaging.
Probably a big reason for the mess we're in now, you cant just shut the world down and print money for people to stay at home and expect no consequences.
What it did show was the power of the government and the messages they can put out and influence people etc. The nudge unit, scaring people, shaming, group think. How stupid the rules were, no one could follow them, the government didn't.
Some of the stuff was absolutely bonkers and when you look back it looked utterly ridiculous.

The mad rules of lockdown, bizarre looking back
Looking back there were some bizarre rules, implementations and behaviours. Some are actually hilariously bad. The women fined for lockdown walk, what is local area no definition in the guidance at the time. Funny at the end the police guy had moved outside his area...
