Pompey could turn to new signing Josh Martin for attacking inspiration after suffering an injury blow.
Paddy Lane has been diagnosed with a torn calf after the problem prompted him to leave Northern Ireland’s training camp last week.

Looked at their home form I don't think it's that special. Charlton got a draw there. There is nowt to be worried about. If we turn up with the right attitude which we will it will be a 3-1 win and 3pts to take back up North. Then should be a nice win on Tuesday night. I know we are shite at night matches but Northampton are shifter than Shrewsbury. .
 
We can't win away from home so fully expecting another Bolton away type performance where we offer absolutely nothing and lose by a narrow margin.

There are no signs that we are improving away from home so until that happens, it's only normal to expect a defeat.

They’ve had a hell of a lot of luck as well though. This Pompey train will stutter at some point, it’s unsustainable to continue to scrape wins/draws the rate they’ve been doing so this season.

Only a stutter though - I still think they’ll make automatics.

I see they might have Anthony Scully back - always impressed me when he was at Wigan.

I think that line "There are no signs that we are improving away from home" is key and how many times have we been in this situation (bar Barnsley) and felt that overwhelming sense of optimism!
