Another Met Officer….

Cressida Dick will no doubt be worming her way out of it again blaming everyone but herself.
I know everything stops at the top - but in reality I am pretty sure she was not there when the alleged incident took place.

Yes she should be held accountable for many things, but not everything.

Edited: "you" to "she" - as that was what was meant, just a typo.

I was not there? do I need to be to have an opinion? What a strange comment.
She’s been worming her way out of everything that’s wrong with the police force for years and always blames it on others but never herself not once has she ever taken responsibility.

Apologies - a typo - it should have read "I am pretty sure she was not there"

Hopefully makes more sense now - doh!

I read somewhere the other day, that Couzens had been part of a chat group with other officers (some of whom have been suspended), on which he was referred to as Rapist before his attack on the young lass!

WTF has been going on?

I agree that THAT is very concerning...he obviously had a reputation that seems most inappropriate for a serving police officer.
In my previous career in teaching, I'm pretty sure that any inappropriate social media group/"banter" would have led (quite rightly) to a serious disciplinary outcome. Astounding that a group of serving police officers thought it was okay (allegedly).
The rape and murder was obviously horrific - but no doubt individuals from all major professions have committed such a crime at some point over the last 100 years.

I've made my feelings clear about the Police on a few occasions... There's low level criminality, deceit, misogyny, abuse, theft, contempt etc.. going on throughout the service. Even the ones that are half decent will cover for colleagues and fail to stand up... It's no surprise in the end that much bigger crimes like these are now coming out. It's tough, I suppose, because they've probably struggled to recruit and maybe forced to compromise on standards.

I'm sure that I read in the paper, or on TV, that there were about 5 other Officers in the same Dept who were doing the same.
Cressida Dick is top, she shoulders the blame.
What the Yanks would say is 'The Buck stops here'.
She looks as much like a Copper as JUlie Andrews. Just plucked that name out, but, you know what I mean.
Having worked for the Police for 8 years in the 90s, no female Cop looked like her. They were a tough bunch.

I wonder how long it will be before someone inside has a go at Couzens?
He'll probably be in 'Solitary' for ever.

They don't usually do solitary these days, except for violent prisoners, and then only on a time limited basis. He will probably be on a sex offenders wing.

I think he’s in a special small unit in Belmarsh at the moment.
They said it will be very difficult to keep him safe as every every Tom, Dick and Harry will be waiting to have a go.

Anyone in a position of high trust that commits crimes like this should in my opinion recieve double the punishment.

NB. In the case of people who commit crimes like Couzens just one hanging will suffice. The drawing and quartering is pointless really but any organs after the hanging could of course be used.

Nick, I accept your direction of thought. However, the first line of defence must be in the standards of recruitment, followed by extensive training of those who make the cut.

I would also suggest that wages in the police should be very high, in order to attract the best recruits. Senior police officers are not slow in insisting that their rank & file are 'officers'. If that is to be the case then they should behave as officers, not like actors in TV cop shows but as educated, sympathetic, empathetic human beings who know instinctively the difference between right and wrong.

In 2015 Couzens was caught driving around from the waist naked.
What the hell is wrong with that beast 🤬
And he worked for the police at that time , jeez.

The current problems we see today were first brought so the attention of Police chief Cressida Dick over 12 months ago and just swept under the carpet.

Retired Superintendent detective Paige Kimberley of the Met Police highlighted several vulgar and sexist Police messaging groups similar to the one used by convicted murderer Wayne Couzens.

Hundreds of sexual images and derogatory comments about women were shared by up to 1,000 male Police officers.

Superintendent Kimberley wrote to Cressida Dick following the murder of Sarah Everard to ask for an internal review into improper use of internet Police messaging groups but never even got a reply.

When asked for a response to the accusation the Metropolitan Police said we cannot comment at this time.

An utter shambles she has to go plain and simple.

They’ll always be got at eventually, just a matter of time.

Jaffa,

You make your case well. Allow justice to take its course.

The point I raised here 66 is to do with the incompetence of Cressida Dick the Police Chief.
Not sure what justice you actually mean?
I’am not for one minute suggesting anything sinister here other than she was told about the goings on of these Police message groups by a senior detective and for what ever reason instead of carrying out an investigation she swept it under the carpet.

Yes, yes. I mean, let her be found out by her disciplinary system. Not by a public lynching. I have my own concerns about her performance. Let's see it done properly.
