Another statement criticising our fans, homophobic chanting obviously fleetwood just like the knobbers and tram getting attacked again obviously Fleetwood fans.the club not doing themselves any favours here!

I didn’t hear any homophobic chanting from our end, not saying it didn’t happen just didn’t hear anything.

as for the tram incident ?? that was the cods doing.

Quite right mate If anyone is aware of any incidents which took place in relation to discriminatory behaviour during the Fleetwood Town fixture, please email customerservices@blackpoolfc.co.uk.

Good question @GJJW - clearly specifically homophobic whatever it was or they would have used another word. Wasn't there and so don't know.
I was there pal and heard nothing like that. I mean, apart from a few Cods calling our Mums "Queens".

That chant was sung to be fair but was it homophobic ?
I didn't take it as such at the time rather just fans digging out the fact that AP is in prison
i said similar TAM ie i didn’t hear any homophobic chanting so like you didn’t relate the “chant” to being as such…

Right, as a gay man am I offended - no. Is it just banter and any worse than 'he's sewing bags' - more crude but no.
I'd be interested to know who has classed it as homophobic because they are treading a very dangerous line. Anyone who is gay is fully aware of what terminology is deemed homophobic and they have missed their mark with this one.
The ironic thing is that 'bumming' in jail is usually carried out by sexually frustrated straight men and so actually it's more hetrophobic!

oh shit yes that was sung. i didn’t rightly or wrongly attribute that as homophobic chanting at the time more reference to his stint in the nick and what may happen to him?

I don’t know 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️
There was also another chant which I didn't know the words but had Pilley serving 10 and ended he's getting Bumxxx in it.

We move on, well beyond the yobbish days of yore. But there is a truth. Wherever ill educated youths congregate there will be homophobic/racist/misogynistic chanting. Don't get me wrong. The immature youths of the upper classes also do the same but from an entitled perspective. The authorities need to be able to stretch the tolerance because kids will be kids.

The rights and wrongs aren't the lasting issue. The fact is BFC will be seen as 'in the spotlight' with the EFL/FA/ whoever and without them checking any details they'll assume the worst and it will be a cross against us.

Have our club expressed any concern at all for the well-being of the kids who were on the team that was being attacked?

I get that the club has a certain statutory duty to condemn things - the authorities will expect that but it seems extremely mealy mouthed to condemn our fans for a thing that doesn't appear particularly harmful to anyone and then not mention a thing that is literally harmful to people including the young and vulnerable.

If the club have mentioned this, then I withdraw the post but I haven't seen hide nor hair or it. 🤷

Singing songs about bums = condemned Blackpool fans for being homophobic

Throwing bricks though glass windows and shattering them in front of kids faces = silence

As I say - I understand the club has to be seen to do the former. It is what it is. We're obviously under scrutiny. It's like 'tits and fannys' part 2...

Why though, it can't also express concern for the well-being of those supporters affected and make some basic comment like 'going forward we will work with the police to ensure safety for all" or something I don't know.

More woke shite creeping in.

Can't wait for these ultra inclusive games in a few years where nothing can be said.

Is calling someone a 'wanker' offensive? Is it really appropriate to bring masturbation into a football game, making judgements about their gender.

They can take that spotlight and shove it up their arśe… er, I mean, shine a light on their own significant inadequacies and constant failings

You can't treat the football like its a trip to the Odeon to watch jumanji , most people understand context, you wouldn't have postcards with a cartoon old maid with her tits out in WH SMITH but if you walk down blackpool promenade you might see a few. Also debatable that it's homophobic, maybe the terrace songbirds were trying to bring light to terrible and oft overlooked prison abuses

I'm guessing these emails are all part of the deal we signed up to following the latest fine. I'm sure the club take no satisfaction in sending such emails, although I don't think the tone of them is helping anyone. After the 'tits and fannies' email it just led to the song being sung more than ever. Personally I just ignore mail from the club now, it's totally counterproductive in my view.

It might have been a female prison officer giving it him with a massive strap on which Isn’t homophobic I don’t think, did the club just assume pilleys sexual preferences? How disgusting.

Why don’t Preston fans get fined for their chant against us? I wouldn’t mind if it was true, but my mums a mental health nurse and my dads a carpet fitter

That's proper tickled me this morning Athers 😂

I'd say a lot of people who attend games (who aren't scousers) will admit most of the chants are water off a ducks back and if they get a good one in having a dig you have a little bit of begrudging respect for them. Still remember them lot singing Oyston's sewing bags when he was sent away and having a wry smile at it. Quite a few from PKE tipped their hat to our Patino chant.

You're absolutely right but as is often the case these days, it doesn't matter if you're offended, only if someone is on your behalf.

🙄
