As a 63 year old, I was weened on the Commodore Amiga back in the mid 80's and at that time absolutely loved playing computer games, Dungeon Master (No not a Karl Oyston Biography) was a revelation to me. at the time as were games like Sensible Soccer, Championship Manager, Speedball 2 etc.,

I continued playing through the 486 computer days right through to about 10 years ago when I just lost interest but was kept up to speed by my 2 lads.

I have just ventured back into the world of gaming again as a means of relaxation and I am thoroughly enjoying it. Anyone else still got the bug?

Yep, although a bit younger, what are you playing?

Have PC, Xbox and PlayStation. But mostly play on my PC. Mainly play Destiny 2 but I remember the days of master system, mega drive (Italia 90) and early PlayStation days

Well, I am a Mac man so not the best setups for gaming so I have an iMac with a great screen and not the power to utilise it so I discovered Geforce now and Xbox cloud gaming ultimate and I have both to those and Gforce Now has just linked up with Xbox so you can play the Xbox library through Geforce now which is basically a cloud computer that gives you a top spec PC that you can play on the Mac and play the games on the highest graphic settings, its been a game changer even though there is a monthly cost to both.

I have been playing Baldurs Gate 3 and Starfield pretty much exclusively and love both of them, I have also been doing some of the sports sims so FIFA 23, never played that before and thought it would be crap but really love it, also Cricket 22 and AO Tennis 2.

I have quite a few games on Steam and can play those on Geforce now and you don't have to load the game so no hard drive space needed, same with the Xbox cloud gaming.

I'm not quite as old perhaps but computer games are my main relaxation. Find TV dull as dishwater these days and games make me think more. It's also a good way of keeping up with mates, chatting and having a laugh while we play 👍

Many years ago I got into a helicopter shoot ‘em up game and became quite addicted.

Happily I then discovered crack cocaine and managed to shake it off 👍

But the worst has to be avftt.

Only in my 40s but yeah on PC, still wondering about Starfield at the moment but Bethesda annoy me a bit, Fallout 4 was shockingly bad and it looks like a terrible version of No Man's Sky, which I actually really like.

Might give Cyberpunk 2.0 a go, it's supposed to be fixed.

Went all the way from ZX81 to Spectrum 48 to Amstrad 64 back in the 80's.

Played various consoles and hand held consoles gaming my last one purchased being a PS2. Which would have been about 2004? Grew out of it after that.

Waste time on my phone with a couple of golf games and Bejeweled Blitz.

Cyberpunk is completely fixed. Red Dead 2 is the best game I've ever played.

I thought Starfield would be rubbish but it's hooked me in although Baldurs gate is something else.

I really thought FIFA 23 would be shit but take over BFC, play the matches and it's great fun, much better than Football manager

I still play games at 51.completed red dead gta5 no cheats on.. I must admit cyberpunk with no glitches is the greatest game ever and now with the add on its unreal... Anyone with a ps5 private message me I have a free God of war randaroch code if you want to play the game...

Yep 47 years old and I have had all PlayStations, mega drive, Amiga and Spectrum in the past.
My favourites over this period; Speedball 2, NHL 93, Metal Gear Solid, all GTA, my favourite definitely COD MW2 back in 2009 on PS3. Currently I play PGA 2K23 in an online world league which is very addicting. My son plays PlayStation and Switch now.

Speedball 2 was ace. Hours of fun playing that.

I do like an open world game so if you liked Red Dead I can thoroughly recommend Kingdom Come Deliverance it's a Medieval Red Dead, though.

Back in the day I played an online game called City of Heroes, my lads loved it and they have just remade it as Ship of heroes out next year, I hope they have nailed it.

Funny you berate fallout 4 cos that's what I'm currently hooked on (again)! Though I will admit it's trash compared to fallout 3 in a lot of ways.

As for Bethesda... I won't give them a penny after fallout 76.

I have played City of Heroes, one of my good friends actually met his wife on there!

It's just the load times (every frickin doorway), the base building is pointless, the story goes nowhere and its just bloody fetch quests for Preston bloody Garvey for hours and hours.

New Vegas was bloody ace though, loved that, probably because it wasn't Bethesda.

My guilty game secret is Far Cry, love all of them from 3 onwards but I think FC5 is one of the great games, no one else does mind...

Currently replaying Fallout 3, with some "interesting" mods, in terms of NV, let's not talk about just how many hours I have in that.

Hard to disagree with a lot of that. Although base building does earn you free components and caps... but maybe not enough to to be worth the effort admittedly.

As for New Vegas... never got the vibe myself though I can 100% see why some rate it as the best fps fallout.

Total War series absolute quality.
Age of Wonders 👍

I also had a dabble at Tropico too

I remember fallout3 on Ps. That was way too addictive.
I remember when Populous and Powermonger were released on the Amiga, I loved Powermonger and it sort of heralded the start of those types of games and of course Civ 1 was about too.

The big difference between NV and F3 is the introduction of companions, and that has a massive effect on the gameplay, especially if you're playing hardcore, very hard mode.

Also, NV DLC is far better.
I'm OK with the mysterious stranger turning up every once in a while as a companion (even on survivor setting)! I find they otherwise completely ruin my immersion... each to their own tho

I think NV is just more focused, the RPG is the best in the series and it's by far the most political.

I've been playing a lot of Scrabble against the computer, woodoko and Block puzzle. But as for games, nah, not for me.

Civilization 6 with all the added mods is a brilliant way to kill a few hours. A great mixture of history, strategy and Command and Conquer style battles throughout history. You can either faithfully try to replicate the Roman/British/Mongol empires...or be the Aztecs and reduce America to a wasteland with thermonuclear bombs...with an epic soundtrack and commentary from Sean Bean. Great way to spend a Sunday 😄

I've also ordered the new EA FC for Ps5 just for the 1v1s with mates and career mode. I can't get my head around the other online mode the 'youngsters' play...sounds like Pokemon!
