Anyone else not overwhelmed by the Critchley return?

No I expect him to have a fair crack at the whip.
That’s not quite what you said. I very much doubt that the atmosphere will be anything other than lukewarm towards the coach, and business as usual towards the team. There will be far fewer chanting Critchleys Tangerine Army unless he starts like a house on fire.

Dobbie deserved the job the way Critchley dumped you was shocking & he didn’t even say sorry just upped sticks .
There is many things north end have done wrong .
but once a manager leaves that’s it for me .Good luck with him next season but it must leave a nasty taste with all you .Blackpool fans .
I would never trust him again if I was you .

Says a person with a vested interest in stoking division within our fanbase.

Some truth in what you say though. For what it’s worth I would like to see Pool fans unite behind Critchley again. A good start, which is obviously not a given, and I imagine that is what will happen.

No nasty taste here thanks. Now fuck off back to your own forum, there's a good little nobber.

There are a number of additional factors which work in a Critchley’s favour too. The simple fact that he has won a promotion is not the be all and end all… Though a promotion to the Championship in your first season as a Manager is quite an achievement.

He also fits well culturally, is extremely hard working, has the tactical nous to be pragmatic and ‘evolve’ the style of football to suit the players and circumstances, will ultimately seek to pkay entertaining football, but when it’s right to do so.

He’s also capable of understanding and orchestrating the bigger picture, the longer term development of players, ensuring a consistency and quality in the coaching methods and so on..

Finally, he does genuinely love the club. Obviously that doesn’t extend to being some kind of sacrificial lamb to the cause and so (just like anyone else) he’s not going to let any significant opportunity pass him by, but I do believe the Club and more importantly the support is very special to him and that relationship will play a massive part in our success moving forwards.

So on that last point, the babies amongst us will need to have resolved their issues before the season starts and to ensure that they are 100% committed to the cause (and I mean 100% - fist pumps and all - no half measures - all in for promotion committed).

This is a manager who is genuinely capable and has the winning mentality and ambition to get this club to the dizzy heights of the EPL (make no mistake about that). So let’s not blow this opportunity through petty mindedness ffs.

Yep there are literally no negatives at all. He should be awarded the Nobel peace prize for bringing peace reconciliation and harmony to BFC just through the medium of a couple of stilted scripted PR appearances and for services to brass necks around the world. Any dissenters will be firmly polished off by BFster x 3 and Co

I seriously worry about you at times mate 😂😂

To be honest I'm with Daz on this

Critchley is the man

I just hope he gets proper backing from both the fans and board unlike Appleton
If he gets board backing then the fans will back Critchley when the results arrive. If they don’t then either Sadler or Crtichley or possibly both are just killing time.

What's attracted you to the millionaire Paul Daniels' lookalike, Neil Critchley? All of a sudden? Phil? Were you moved by his contrition?

I actually like his honesty this time around, he knows he made a mistake and appears grateful that he's been given the opportunity to come back

He will have also learned a lot during the last 12 months or so

So no more pandering to Klopp in friendly games or speaking nonsense after poor defeats

I also think we will try and play a more attractive style of play

To me though it's more important what the owner does than the head coach this season

I never thought I'd see the day. But fair play. 👍

I thought your shiny new avatar was a piss take.

It was at first but the more I've been listening to him and thinking about the future I honestly think he's probably the best man for the job

He shares the same thoughts as me in terms of a strategy and the long term future of the club

Everyone at the club being aligned is a massive thing and he spoke well on this

I'm sure he read my post earlier this week about the vision and strategy of the club

It is the sense of a bigger picture that BFC refers to above that I missed most in his sojourn in the wilderness. There was a real sense that Blackpool had a long-term plan and a vision of measured but achievable progress. I am hoping that NC can bring that feeling back and translate it into a championship return while we are at it.

Absolutely. Will be gutted to see Dobbie walk on the back of this
Especially with Critchley on a 4 year deal. Dobbie will be on other clubs watch list now and if he has ambition he won’t hang around.
The irony of the last few appointments is that Critchley was the most successful and he’s the one appointment we took a chance on so I can’t understand the clubs desire for the safe option now.

If you and Critch are aligned, then i reckon its the start of a new era.

He will have to earn backing from the fans I would have thought but it will be made a lot easier for him with a large financial backing from Simon 👍🏼
If we’re going to go down that route, then we might as well pack In before we even start.

As supporters we need to put the past behind us…

Oyston
‘The Boycott Years’ (yes I know they were hard)
Last Season
Critchley’s‘Goodbye-gate’

We need to start this season bang up for it and fully behind the manager. He doesn’t need to earn our backing, that is unconditional… He’s a good bloke and he’s the best tactician we’ve ever had, by a country mile.

It’s not us that need to get behind him as much as Simon does with his cheque book 👍🏼
