Anyone remember Wimpy in Blackpool?

Which burger place used to cook them on what looked like coals; usually had a bit of char on them.

I say looked like, because I only went after a night out, so it could have been anything.

I seem to remember it being on the easterly edge of the town centre, possibly South King Street; it's a long time ago so it could be miles off!

Yanks (I think) on Church Street opposite the Sally Army. Used to be queues at midnight. Later became Doodles.

I remember the one at the Pleasure beach just before it closed down. Must be around 20 years ago now that.

I also lives round the corner from Ziggies as a kid and had a few birthday parties in there!

Anyone remember Dylans on Clifton St burgers were very good.
I worked there....I always remember when the cast of the tv sit com " get some in" came in.....they were regulars as they where playing the summer season at the opera house.....if anyone ordered a bottle of wine...I had to go out the back door....run done the alley to yates as they had a small off licence section...run back....scrape the label off under the tap and put a Dylans house wine label on the bottle lol
I think that was either 1976 or 77...happy days

Was further down towards Coral Island, opposite what is now TK Maxx.

Far better than Maccies. Think it shut early 90's. I had a Wimpy birthday party there when I was about 6.

Used to love Ziggies too until that closed :(
loved ziggies too used to come up from fleetwood for a ziggy burger

Can't remember Wimpey but i do recall that McAlpines built the Co-op Hypermarket that is now Asda. 🙂
The Co-Op Hypermarket! I’d forgotten about that! It was such a treat to go there. Almost as exciting as going to B&M in Cleveleys for fuzzy felt and those big pens with ten different coloured inks.

Was Ziggy's first one on the corner of West street (Spoon's) the first foil wrapped Burgers in blackpool

Yanks Burgers were the best. Im sure it was originally on Talbot Road over the road from Rumours?

As for Ziggies, wasnt there one on Lytham Road aswell, on the same block as KFC?

On the subject of fylde coast burgers - best I can remember from my youth is from Great Birchwood (what happened to line dancing?!) but at £2 a go it was rare treat. Don't know what they did but the flavour was incredible.
