How do official “Appearances” work?
Is it if a player starts a match?
So much time on the pitch?
Can a substitute in extra time claim to be an appearance?

If in a players contract, does appearance money still apply to minutes on the pitch?
I can understand that this system could be abused by some managers wanting to boost wages of their player mates.
