Good interview from Sean with George Elek the podcaster from Colin Murray's EFL Show.
Appleton is obviously highly regarded within the game including PL managers who are happy to entrust him with the development of young players.

More Oxford views:

"The 2015/16 season (as a whole) was the most fun we have had this century, obviously the play off win is the single biggest moment but over the entire season I really enjoyed 15/16, just so many good memories. As good as some of the football has been under Robinson it’s not comparable to that season yet, that’s why Appleton is above Robinson in most peoples eyes."

"I can’t see him seeing out the season.
He is already up against it with the fans and Blackpool don’t have money to invest in the squad which MApp usually needs. The reaction from their fans saying he plays negative football is an odd one considering since he has left them, his teams are known for playing attacking football."

There's that 'we're skint' myth again.

Football fans are ** idiots on the whole.

If we still had access to the old AVFTT site, I wrote a post a few years ago saying he 'was the one who got away'. I have always admired Appleton for so many different reasons and as he says he was just the wrong manager at the wrong club at the wrong time.
Also wrote after Wembley how dignified he was in defeat and I think if he'd not have had the injuries within the squad and his cancer last season, Lincoln would have done a lot better than 17th.
