So he also sang Robin Hood Robin Hood riding through the Glenn...

Which tune we later used for Marvin Bryan's song!
Dick James was the singer of Robin Hood, Robin Hood, Riding Through The Glen on the TV series. Gary Miller released his version on a LP. Not meaning to be a smart arse.

According to my ancient copy of The Guinness book of hit singles Gary Miller’s version of Robin Hood was in the singles charts in January and February 1956 and reached number 10.
Dick James version, which also entered the singles chart in Jan 1956,only reached number 14.
No need to call anyone a smart arse( except Haaland who has just scored with his!)

Towards the end of the Beatles they all thought James was a bit of a wide boy. They'd have done better to go with him than the Eastmans and Klein.
they were all mainly Jewish music publishers. Tin Pan Alley as it was and still is called is the home of music publishers. if there was a deal it would be more for the publisher than the artist. Elton John sings about his struggles and Bernie Taupin on Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy. Some one saved my life tonight. love that song.

I’ve been trying to find out how often Neville Williams aka Gary Miller played for Pool.According to info in Roy Calley’s 1992 book there was a Williams who played intermittently in 1942/43- about 30 games in all.Presume that’s him

I think it is. He was a non-professional.

edit I suppose during the war there wouldn't be any wages.
